Probably, but I'm not sure what their point was. I think they figured the game was in hand so showing the crowd leaving early gave them a talking point for a couple minutes. It's always pissed me off that it happens in the first place and it's nothing new so we have to wear it, but I didn't appreciate ESPN making a big deal out of it. If they wanna take pot shots at fan bases, maybe they can pan around at a top 5 Baylor team's arena and their dozens of passionate fans next time they're covering a game down there, or talk about how Tech or Oky State don't draw **** to support new coaches trying to get traction in a tough league, or how OU couldn't put butts in their seats when they were top 5 almost the entire year last year.

They've stroked Hilton long enough that I suppose we had it coming, but it just didn't sit well at a time when a lot of other things weren't sitting real well either. It made for good tv for ESPN so whatever.
Don't Expect ESPN to be in Ames for a Big Monday any time soon. It was a good run.

The miss on Emmanuel Malou looms large over this game, and not having Cameron Lard. We need scorers. Honestly, I thought we'd get blown out.

For whatever reason, we do not work for good shots on Offense, no BB expert, but we are too reliant on iso's and the two man game. We do nit make our opponents work on defense.

I will give Prohm credit on big time improved defense, and we are now starting games well. Last year we'd get down by 20.

Rarely will ISU be blown out at Hilton without regard to who we play there.

One if the things that stinks about the underwhelming performance of the team so far, the Burton talk, and the focus on Monte has been Naz's comeback being overshadowed. The guy is my all time favorite Cyclone. He looked pretty bad as a freshman, and made himself into a huge 3 point threat. He comes back from surgery on he most critical joints in athletics. He then makes himself into a great finisher. By all accounts the guy is the ultimate worker.

Agree, but someone please get Naz a shot chart. I swear he's shooting 50% on shots where he's within 2 feet of the 3pt line and about 15% 3+ feet out.

If anything Prohm has been on par with Hoiberg so far in at least recruiting high school players but I dont see any indication hes getting better players. Niang, Morris, Thomas were all 4 stars out of high school.

Where Prohm is failing miserably so far is in the transfer market. If you take the one year production of guys like Royce, Clyburn, Kane, those are comparable to one and done 5-star players at programs like Kansas and Kentucky. Now hes pulling in guys like Bowie and Holden who isnt even good enough to see the floor now. Thats a huge dropoff.

Bingo! Fred was really good at identifying the difference makers that you've outlined. Throw in Cory Lucious also. Kane and Royce individually were so good, they were worth an additional NCAA tourney win by themselves. Not sure Prohm can do that. Fred was the trend setter. Now many other coaches are doing it.

One thing myself and many others have really been asking for with the offense is more sets to get Naz and Matt open shots. They've both made over 200 career threes and we have to utilize that more and go away from the Burton 1 on 1.

Last night I saw us set elevator screens to get Naz open threes multiple times at the top of the key. I really like this action (the Warriors are masterful at it) and I hope we can find ways to get Matt open shots like this too. I know he's not moving as well right now but he really is money on kick out threes.

Agree times 10.

Young looks like he is playing with ankle weights and has absolutely no clue of what is going on. One thing for certain is- do not expect ISU to play on Big Monday again any time soon.

Why is that?
