Hoiberg has to do a better job of adjustments during the game. It was evident the 3 was not falling (especially from Niang). Either have Ejim/Kane shooting the 3's (and where the heck was Naz??) or drive the basket, since FKU was already in foul trouble early in the 2nd half.

KU played awesome tonight we just couldn't match the skill level they were producing. Hats off to the Jay Hawks.

F##k Kansas. Their players showed up to play and ours did not period. They don't have the better players.

I can't remember the last time we came out hot and jumped on a team...has nothing to do with why we lost, but I would just love to see us get hot from the beginning and make our opponent play catch up.

Our outside shooting is abysmal, we might as well start counting them as turnovers, because we're handing the ball right back to them.

For the B12, we're 25-95 from trey; 26%.

Worse yet is we never could get a rebound off the three attempts. They usually bounced to the middle where all the JHoks were standing.

That's because most of the time there were 4 Jayhawks there to rebound and one or two undersized, out of position Cyclones.

EIU really exposed how to beat us. Foul relentlessly on every rebound and shot and play a game of attrition. We were getting mugged on rebounds and it finally started getting called in the 2nd half. It was enough to beat EIU but FKU has more bodies to throw out.

But eiu has the deepest bench in the nation?

Most of the time CFH does a good job at making adjustments. It is hard to make them work when the coach of the other team can match wits with him. Vs most teams CFH s the better coach, vs OU and KU he is not.

I love the green light to shoot approach but would like to see them take smarter selected shots. I don't mind jacking 3's but jacking 3 after 3 with no one in vicinity of the basket to rebound is bad....even more so when we are ice cold. That's the only trend I've seen from Hoiberg teams I can nitpick, shooting 3s when we have NO ONE in rebounding position.

I think it if more fair to say that the way to beat ISU is with some tough bigs inside. ISU is great at scoring on the interior, but they aren't so great at interior defense themselves. You can only do so much if the guy you are guarding is 4" + taller, and every bit as athletic as you are.

I don't understand the "we should have quit taking 3s" philosophy on here. What did you want us to start doing? Posting up Georges and Melvin sure wasn't working. Our guys could get to the rim but couldn't finish because of Embiid presences. Like it or not, our only shot was to hit some jump shots and we couldn't do it. We all love Hoiball when it is working but are sure quick to abandon it when it isn't. The "mismatches" we have on offense with quicker and more skilled guys don't work too well for us when shots aren't falling and when the rim is being protected. Those same mismatches then get completely turned around on us on the defensive end. It's the nature of his style though, and the very thing that can make us fun to watch and has reignited the "Magic" can also be tremendously frustrating.

We've got to find a way to get Georges going. To me, it looks like he is having to work harder defensive and harder to get his shot than last year and it's taking a toll on him. He just didn't have any legs last night. Aside from his stellar play in the last 5 minutes against BYU, Michigan and Iowa he has had a hard time, but I don't doubt he works through it.

Aside from the obvious issue of rebounding, we also need to work on our fluidity on offense. I really like Kane, but it kills our offense when the ball sticks in his hands. Guys like Georges, Monte, Matt and Naz keep the ball moving, but Deandre tends to hold and size up the defense alot. With his size and quickness, he needs to either just go or keep the ball moving.

In all, it's important to remind ourselves of where we are. I'd dare to say there isn't a single member of this board who wouldn't have taken 14-2 to start the year. We are in great shape. I think those of us who have followed the team realized that we may not be as good as our #8 ranking. We are a very good team, but have also been fortunate to win several very close games that could have easily gone the other way.
