There should be no more freaking excuses for Greg NONE he is just not the man for this power conference. Our fundamentals are by far the worst I have seen in like 20 years and the players just do not play defense. Come on Craig contest the last shot what are you to ******* lazy??

What a cluster **** that game was! It was a bit of a lucky shot at the end of OT, but there is no excuse for letting this game get to that point. This coach is in over his head.

From what I saw it looked like none of the players wanted to be there and were dragging *** all night.

Where was Colvin in the 2nd half?

Christopherson was just lighting it up from outside and making great passes at people's feet....we had no room for Colvin at the end.

Seriously, Mac's personnel decisions absolutely baffle me. Buckley was playing with 30 seconds left in the game?! No Colvin in the 2nd half and OT?!

I don't think Brackins touched the ball for the last 10 minutes of the game. He was clearly frustrated. It's sick that we can't get our best freaking player the ball late in the game.

And thank god we save all of those timeouts for the end of the game...they really came in handy tonight. :jimlad:

He's recruited plenty of talent...losing much of that talent is NOT all his fault. Look, I understand any opinion beyond FIRE GMAC TONIGHT will be ridiculed on here but seriously. Just admit the man is a good coach who gets his kids to play hard but has just had some terrible freaking luck. You want him gone, great but stop acting like every single thing that's gone wrong is 100% Greg's fault.

I would agree with this except for the fact that Baylor, after having their ENTIRE NON-CONFERENCE SEASON thrown away, won more conference games that season than we did this year. (Assuming a loss in the next game and the conference tourney)

Rip on the players all you want, but the reason they are at Iowa State is because our head coach evaluated them and believed they were Big 12 caliber. All they can do is come in and try their hardest, which I believe they do. If they just aren't able to compete at a high level in the Big 12 (which is pretty much the truth except for Brackins, Gilstrap and a young Colvin) that isn't their problem, it is the problem of the coach who believed they were a Big 12 player.

WHat was attendance like tonight?

It looked better than the NU game once the game got going but the senior intros happened with probably <2K fans in the seats. It was pretty empty but I'm guessing 8k. It was more than half full.

DG did okay.

SC shot 4 for 16.

hes the best at p*ssing games away though, im tired of his turnovers and terrible passes, and he happened to have one that led to the layup to win the game for MU. at the start of overtime i said DG was going to blow it for us.

I was right.

what are you basing your claim that he is a "good coach" on? his record at UNI? i would argue that that was his assistant with the goods. good coaches win.

His record at UNI actually wasn't that great..49-41 in conference ...nothing really THAT amazing

Anyone hear McD in the postgame? A lot of that one falls on him. Atleast 5 times we came out of a time out not prepared and comitted a turnover or couldn't even get a shot up. And if the guys are unable to execute what he draws up... time to draw up another freaking option. I want nothing but success for the guy, but after four years of REGRESSION its time to wake up and get it right.

Tell him to get his *** under the hoop instead of loitering around the perimeter.

All the negative **** has been hashed out, now we have to come together and show the world why ISU is were great! Were passionate, loyal and we all have ISU as a conduit! That's Hilton Magic! We've still got chance...but you have to belive!

this is definitely on Pollard too, especially the extension. I have and continue to be a Pollard supporter but it is waning. He needs to right this ship fast.

Yes, WTF was he thinking on the extension?!:skeptical:

How Pollard handles this mess may define his tenure as AD. So far I have approved of most, not all, of the things he has done. I will admit that at the time I thought GMac was a good hire for us. I never would have given him a contract extension however.

The bad luck argument only gets you so far. Some of it is bad luck, but that argument can only go so far.

I said it earlier and I'll say it again...If go golfing, and 3 putt every hole, I could blame it on bad luck. I had a few puts lip out, maybe there was a little debris that hit my ball, maybe a putt didn't break like it was supposed to...but at some point, after 3 putting the past 18 greens I have to come to the realization it's no longer poor luck, but I just suck at golf.

SC shot 4 for 16.

Serious question: How in the hell does Christopherson get the green light to shoot 16 times in a game???

I'd be curious to see his conference shooting percentage. It can't be good.

He is 4 of his last 23 from the field.

Edit: I looked it up...30 of 114 from the floor (26%). He has put up more than 10 shots in 6 conference games. And yet he is shooting 16 times in a close game and playing 33+ minutes per game. That is mind boggling.

DG did okay.

SC shot 4 for 16.

DG shot ok.... He is the point guard and the ball handler of this team. He is resposible for getting guys the ball in a position to score. He is respposible for getting us into the right sets and running the plays correctly. DG is absolutely HORRIBLE!! That is the main problem with GMAC. He REFUSES to sit upperclassmen in favor of younger players simply because they are not as good NOW. How can you build a program that way?
Chris Williams said on KXNO earlier today that the plan was to move DG to the 2 once Buckley got here. How did that not happen? Because Greg refused to sit BP. I don't blame him because most teams around the country would have KILLED to get a guard the caliber of BP! No wonder Buck never got a chance last year and was not able to develop. GREAT coaching!! We are so lucky to have GMAC here.
