Any other high level, state employee would be fired for this kind of ineptitude. It wouldn't matter if that person's staff dropped the ball, the person making the big bucks would take the fall. I have no idea why any think it should be different from one of the top 10 paid state employees.

I cant imagine how few season tickets will be sold next year if Mac is still the coach, will it reach 5,000? I know I am not renewing.

complete apathy has set in. a seemingly heartbreaking loss is barely phasing me right now, which is even worse considering I watched the game with mizzou friends at a mizzou bar.

I hate to say this but McDermott best ISU team was the 1st year

with Mike Taylor and company but the entire guard court left after that year

exactly. I supported mcCarney going away, but if Coach Mac basically got run off for lack of enthusiasm, production, and ticket sales AFTER what he had accomplished here BUILDING a program, certainly McDermott must be shown the door for tearing a program to the ground even with 2 potential NBA players (doubt either will see significant playing time ever in the NBA)

This season is on McDermott, tonight isn't. We were in a position to win, despite being overmatched all over the place.

Six seconds and you let the Missouri guy look like Jamal Tinsley. Unbelievable or just stupid.

The whole thing is sad. They are so close and just can't get it done. So many games could have went either way and every single one of them went the wrong way. When we do one thing well, there is something else we don't any given night. Fix one thing and something else breaks. Fix that and the next game it is something else. Just an unreal stretch, never saw a year like this. Just so many close games that they can't pull out.

Our definitions of close differ.

It's simply over for GM at ISU. A good guy who is in over his head at this level. If a move is not made, ISU will be lucky to average 7,000 in actual attendance next year. No sense in delaying the inevitable. Take our lumps - get the right guy and start rebuilding this program.

That pretty much sums it up.

You are a lucky man.

My brother called me and was about in tears explaining how the game ended. He is a college coach and has been a huge supporter of McDermott's but after tonight even he thinks GMac is done.

Gilstrap is NOT an NBA player... he can't even dribble. Any scout at the game put him outside of the range of their radar for sure.

I still want to know why the **** Craig Brackins was standing near the FT line on that final play in OT. Did he not expect anyone to drive the lane? Pa-the-tic!
I am still trying to figure out how we had the ball with like 12 seconds left in a tie ball game, and end up in losing! Hey Greg, did it ever occur to you in the time out to tell the players to play for the last shot, unless it is a layup?

Think about it.... we have the ball..... tie game......12 seconds left. Our player sprints down the floor, and passes the ball with 7 seconds left, right to our player's feet. The get the ball, dribble down the court, and make a layup, because we don't put people on the ball to slow it down.

I honestly believe that last 12 seconds was the most poorly coached basketball I have ever seen at the collegiate level.

How he thinks he 's going to post up in the NBA is beyond me? He didn't score in the second half? I don't care how many guys are on you, even a put back? Nothing. He's soft. I want him to go, go with Greg and this point guard. I'm sick of the whole program. There will be nobody in KC, again, or should they. These guys have killed any energy that ISU men's basketball had. And, we had some. That's saying something. I heard some radio personalities laughing about Hilton Magic this morning. That says something. It works for Bill, but he has almost 500 wins.
