We literally should talk no trash. We should quietly walk back to the line and run the next play. On every play. We are not good enough to trash-talk.

That was pathetic. They score and the guy points to the sky, our guy salutes and gets a flag.
This is one of the worst football teams I have ever watched, and it's not because they don't have talent.
The QB is a terrible decision maker, and awful leader. All he does is miss throws and toss his hands in the air. He can't throw a swing pass to someone in stride. We are screwed until we find an above average to very good QB. Sam is average at best.
The defense is a mess and you can put a lot of that on injuries.
The Coaching is completely indicative of a staff that has no confidence in the players.

I would start Rohach next game based upon that final play alone.....I don't care what the rest of you haters say. WWSD? What would Sabin do? Rohach won two games last year and if you endorse the 4th and 7 hook slide you are a LOSER. OF course, I expect Sam to start with a sore shoulder and the flu and all and lead us to a similar performance against West Virginia.
Sam is by far and away NOT what is wrong with this team. It's the fact that the only player on defense that would see the field at any other school in the Big 12 is Mutcherson. There is no talent on defense.
Addressed it in my OP. It was a horrible call. It was one of the three calls ISU got all game. Overall Tech got completely raped by the officials.
Not here to rub the win in, but I'm ****** about the way my Raiders got screwed by the Big 12 refs. Completely unacceptable.
Tell me why we go for fg after the first one barely made it to the end zone. At this point in the season appease your fans and go for it.

Pally, go back and watch the hook slide on 4th and seven. That tentative, subdued leadership has been consistent since-ohh, I don't know-- the KU game of 2012 when he came out to beat KU. Since then, a lot of Liberty Bowl efforts.
YOu are correct though in saying that the Defense is bad too.
ISU could have used the much more obvious celebration call making a 54 yard fg option a 44 yard fg option.
It was the worst call of the game when the ACTUAL excessive celebration later in the game was let slide.
And it is something like this on every series - missed FG, holding penalty, dropped pass, etc. Each by itself is a problem, taken all together it is the Mt. St Helens of dumpster fires.
But nearly identical season Texas Tech is good enough to do Bruce Lee impressions after scores and have the same refs eat it up like a bag of popcorn? It was a highly irrational call at the time, made more baffling when the Tech player pretended he was a the Pink Ranger after his TD with no matching call.
