That's actually really funny nglOver under for this game was 142. It barely got over 100.
This is like watching golf.
Badminton?Don’t you dare disrespect golf like that.. maybe more like soccer..
You’d think in a game like this Walker could at least run PG a few times up the floor. He can’t be that much of a liability against a team like Jack State. Same goes for Harris. The more I watch Bolton, I’m reminded of Nick Weiler-Babb (in terms of point guard play). Not their natural position and much too passive, but show streaks of being aggressive.
Who are our PG's then? I'm thinking Tre Jackson (out till Jan.). Is he a PG, maybe our only one? Why is that; don't most teams carry two PG's? And we obviously have not recruited too well with pure shooters. We were only 4/13 on 3's today, 30% I think. You’d think in a game like this Walker could at least run PG a few times up the floor. Bolton isn’t a natural PG, but played the entire game against WVU and most of this game. At some point he won’t be available and you need to know what Harris, Walker, etc. can do.
I think Walker will develop into a decent PG. Its his natural position he is just playing off the ball right now.Who are our PG's then? I'm thinking Tre Jackson (out till Jan.). Is Harris out or just not playing?
Our offense lacks identity, and it doesn't help that we don't have any consistent shooters. Was the offense just bad or what happened there? Glad the defense appeared to be better. The have moved up about twenty or so spots on KP on defense the last couple game and went down nearly 30 spots on offense.
A ton of turnovers by both teams, which is normal for us. Apart from that, I thought for the most part our game pace was pretty slow except for small spurts. Lot of shot clock usage and time-taking.Was the offense just bad or what happened there? Glad the defense appeared to be better. It appears to me some of it has to do with the usual bad shot selection. Bolton seems to shoot pretty well when he takes a 3 in the flow of the offense, same for Harris, but when they just chuck one up going one on one or before even making a pass, it tends to be way off. Johnson has horrible shot selection as well. I hope Jackson can make it back at some point. He shot really well in conference last year. Our offense lacks identity, and it doesn't help that we don't have any consistent shooters.
I'm no coach, but it's my uneducated opinion that Johnson should have his minutes heavily regulated until he defines a more clear role. Right now he's just a possession-losing machine either through poor shooting, tons of turnovers or both at once. We have enough guys now that can give us 6-10 points on <50% shooting and 5+ turnovers in a game, we certainly don't need more of them playing. I don't really see what he makes us better at being on the floor (defense maybe? He's pretty aggressive and active, I guess). I do think it will help to have Jackson back, but we never know what he's going to look like on return since it's a knee ailment IIRC. Hopefully he's tip-top and back to form.It appears to me some of it has to do with the usual bad shot selection.
