In the NFL it means that the helmet is equipped with a radio headset so the coaches can speak directly to that player. I don't know if that's what it means in college.

In the NFL it means that the helmet is equipped with a radio headset so the coaches can speak directly to that player. I don't know if that's what it means in college.
I thought it used to mean people who had walkie talkies things with coordinators and coaches in their helmet. But those are a different green.
