I this is true (no premium content here, either), it might be as much for Gabe as the rest of the team. Coming off the bench might lighten the mental/stress load for him.

In other words, right now he thinks he's supposed to be a great shooter, and so if he misses his first 1-2 shots, then suddenly he's in his own head. Whereas if his attitude is more like: I'm a defensive guy who comes off the bench, perhaps it liberates him to shoot freely.

Just playing Freud here.

We may have reached the 'throwing things at the wall to see what sticks' phase of this deal but TJ has to try to find something on the offensive end that works better than what they've been doing.
