I am really surprised ESPN has not found a way to make the radio feed an option -- or the only option -- for these ESPN+ games. Think about it: make some little menu selection in the ESPN app after you automate it pulling the Iowa State or Missouri radio guys. The data steam has to be somewhere.

Then you don't need to employ these third-tier announcers -- ESPN loves saving money. Saving money is making money. Fans would probably be happier just to listen to their own radio feed, and it is not like you are having many people watch this game who are not pretty much in the tank for either Iowa State or Missouri like we are. You'd keep live announcers for marquis games on ESPN or ESPN2 or maybe ESPN-U, but for something that they're already giving throwaway effort to like this, I'm surprised they don't do this.

That would mean helping out the little guy.

Don't they sometimes have an option for some football games to be able to listen to one team or the others' local guys?

Usually I'm able to tune out if I think a crew is less-listenable -- it becomes kind of background din.

I'm driven more nuts by bad camera angles and dumb cutaways - seems especially heinous on Plus.

One e.g. among many -- Wednesday's game, showing a crowd close-up during a f****g free throw, instead of the actual free throw. You had to gauge the result on fan reaction, which I guess gets the job done, but I prefer to see it myself.

I don't need to see the crowd (or even a coach, in many cases) unless it's a timeout or true dead ball situation.

I do this frequently. Somehow it makes it easier to handle if I hear it before I see it.

Maybe it’s just me, but playing Mizzou in January just feels right. Love to play more old school Big 8 games in basketball.

A cool idea would be a Big 8 tournament in KC in November/December. 3 games in 3 days with a winner getting a Big 8 Championship. It makes too much sense to ever happen, but man that would be a blast.
