Great half and really impressed with our defense. Halliburton looking really mature for being his 2nd game. Very impressive. Even some of the other freshman have had tough moments but there was good things from each and every one of them as well.

Great end of the half. Our length at the guard position is going to be a problem for lots of teams. Keep it up in the 2nd half

We really got after it in D. Great to see. Freshman are a bit raw now but exciting for the future. Lots of length and skilll.

Looks to me like he just plays and is very natural about it. There's all the tactical stuff that goes into game plan, etc. but some players just know where to be and how to get there.

All I know is that these young players can ball...George needs to eat however. With that said.......the most notable thing I have seen that wasn't there at all last year.............they are having fun! If this group learns how to win with what is sitting on the bench....going to be a good year.

Great half. Best defense I've seen out of an Iowa State team for a while. There's some logic to recruiting guys with long arms.

Agree, long arms help, but I'm as impressed by how they're moving their feet and hustling on rotations. Probably most surprised by Griffin considering he hasn't played much due to injury. Does a decent job defending the post as well, perhaps his experience playing the post in high school.

THT still forcing things too much, the one-on-one high school moves aren't going to work as well at this level.

Best recruiting class in a long time.

More Halliburton love but he also seems to look like a leader out there.

I think we struck gold with this recruiting class. Griffin looks a lot quicker than I expected. He can move on the perimeter and if he makes those corner 3s he’s going to be extremely valuable. Haliburton is like Monte in that he was born ready but he has go-go gadget arms and his jumper is so much better than I expected. Low release but very quick. I wonder if we’re seeing some Curry influence.

+ 15 TOs on Mizzu helped us stay close.
+ Then we started hitting shots. I'll take 40% Treys and 44% FGs any game on schedule.
+ NWB had a quiet 8 pts to tie for scoring lead with Halliburton. I kept thinking early on we need him to get into the game.
+ First time to watch; Halliburton - what a player; gonna be special.

Halliburton's court awareness and feel for the game remind me a lot of Monte in his freshman year, although further along as it took Monte a few games before he contributed. I'd like to see the +/- for when he's in/out of the game, including the first game.

THT has really struggled shooting the first couple games. Sure it is just nerves or something, because he was pretty darn good in HS,

Yeah just needs to figure out how to fit into what they're running I think, but the talent seems to be there.

And when he figures out how to fit, the ability to get isolation will be big especially if 2-3 other guys are giving fits.

Yeah, I think we call it instinct. This is one of those things I ponder when I’m high. We can see he has it, but we haven’t yet figured out how to define it and quantify it. If someone could they’d be rich. Prohm seems to understand it which is why he’s such a good recruiter.

Agreed once THT figures out his place and attacks the rim rim as kind of an abuser (he's Tinsley like in that regard) he'll be amazing. He's been decent on defense already.
