My 8:30 update. Visabality is 3 miles, near as I can tell. The snow is staying put.

A lot of what this will depend on is if you got above freezing today, if so the blizzard won't happen, if not then the wind will really kick up the snow....plain and simple, my area is kinda nasty here NE Iowa

East/West roads aren't great in or out of town.
Airport road in Ames was drifting shut in westbound lane and if not plowed will definitely be closed big time in the morning. Several feet of snow piled up already from the wind.

We are on the soutwest edge of Ames. Streets in the neighborhood weren't good earlier but the tractor plows are now going thru.

Visibility seems fine.
