You never really know. Ryan Anderson is getting paid. I would draft someone different but guys like him have made it.

I just think in the late first round or second round, why don't teams pick guys with one very good skill. Like Babb for instance. Yeah, he isn't going to score 15 a night but you know he can defend perimeter players and his shooting is gravy. I would pick him ahead of Clyburn just because you know he can defend. What do you really know Will can do? He's just kind of good at everything.

He's 6'11 with a good offensive game and can stretch the defense out. I would call that a very good skill. You are being a complete homer if you think babb would be a better pick. I love babb by the way but that is absolutely laughable what you just said.

Clyburn measured at 6'5-1/4", right? That was probably the end of his chances.

I think you'd rather be the Spurs 2nd round player than than a few teams' first rounder.

I'd have picked Kabongo by now. Guess that's why they get paid the big bucks.

He had a good college offensive game. He also has a bad foot. How do 6'11 guys with lingering lower body injuries usually work out? Not very good. What's you upside with Kelly? 5-10 mins from a stretch post who will struggle inside and doesn't do much defensively. So where's the risk of taking a guy like Babb over Kelly? I wasn't saying with that pick specifically, I was saying in general, later in the draft, why not grab a guy with one really good skill that translates?

Can't believe the Clyburn Haterade tonight.

It's not Haterade. You look at a lot of these guys and they have one thing they are really good at. What is Will really good at? He was just a well rounded college player. Could he make it? Sure. Compare him to someone like JR Smith though. Similar size but he's not as explosive and he's not as good of a shooter. It's just really hard for a 6'6 guy to make it unless they are a great athlete or a great scorer. He'll make money playing ball but the NBA is a different animal. I would say the jump from college to the NBA is significantly larger than from BCS football to the NFL.

Nicely said.

Most of these draft picks aren't really going to work out. The jump is so large, and the supply of players is much larger than the # of available jobs. Only so many guys make it into the league at all, and most of them don't stick long. It's really a brutal funnel.
