I didn't realize that the first NCAA tourney game of the Orr era was also in Tulsa; it was against Ohio State of course. I watched that in Friley Hall.
Avenge Johnny, Barry, Jeff and Jeff!

Yup, we were a 13th seed and lost 75-64.

Karl Malone and LaTech played the game after us
and won easily. Karl must have had an entourage of about 15 coeds who followed his every move.

The last time we played these guys in the tournament.

Oh. And that tournament never happened. Louisville had to vacate, right?

I always like when they start off this video with UCLA cheerleaders.....

Buckeye fan here. Came here curious to read ISU fans take on the Buckeyes. Honest scouting report on Bucks, if big Wesson gets in foul trouble, go ahead and buy your tickets for round 2. Our guards are turnover happy and streaky shooters but the team plays HARD under Holtmann. OSU must play inside out or we struggle. Good luck!

Now give me the goods on the Cylcones....
Oh, and Aaron Craft is a saint

Nice to see an opponent's fan come in and not compare their team to the Chicago Bulls from the mid-90s - nice, honest assessment.

As most have already said, we are the most bi-polar team in the country. If the "A" team shows up, we can hang with anyone. If the "B" team shows up, you'll be playing Houston in the next round. We lost to WVU by 15 less than 3 weeks ago, after losing to Texas by around the same amount - that team was ugly.

Luckily for us, the "A" team has asserted its personality in the last 3 or 4 games. It comes down to sharing the basketball and playing January-level defense. If we do that, we move on.

My two cents
Strengths - scoring the ball. No great shooters but anyone on the team can give you ten points and our top three can go for 20 fairly easily. Also when our defense is locked in we are good in transition. We also don’t turn it over a lot.
Weaknesses - we give up a lot of offensive rebounds. Three point defense. Shot selection sometimes turns into hero ball.

Grayer had a great game that day. Showed glimpses of what would ultimately make him the best player in the history of the school.

I listened to that game at work on the radio with Pete Taylor doing the play by play ....Johnny Orr admitted that the Ohio State guards were way too good for us to handle and led to our defeat....we must avenge Johnny and his players today in Tulsa....Go Cyclones beat the Buckeyes
