Anyone know why we had a dog on our sideline? Never saw us bring a dog out before, but today someone ran out with a dog when the team ran out at the start of the game.

Didn't know if I missed something during the game that they were featured, or maybe during the TV broadcast. Just was curious as I have never noticed it before.

Service dog for the hero of the game guy I believe. Noticed it when. They announced him.

I was at the Jack today for the first time since 2012. I think I prefer to watch at home anymore. Not really sure why I feel that way, but may have had to do with having to keep my 2 year old corralled the whole time

It has everything to do with a 2 year old. Thats sounds horrible I would never.

But also the sound system in the stadium has issues. The tv broadcasts have started doing this thing where they are pumping in marching band songs in between plays, for example if you go back to the Iowa game during one of the plays on the long ISU drive they played a marching band version of rise of the rebellion, but also an ISU original 'dont know the words', but ISU band wasnt even there?

I would personally like to see heavy doses of marching band over the PA and 'oldie' remixes mixed in with the newer more popular stuff. The oldie remixes will satisfy both the older and younger folks. Also the sound system obviously needs a revamp, but the engineering is probably super complicated I would guess.

We beat a crap team. Was it nice to beat Iowa? yeah. But I think its fair to expect to beat one of the worst offensive I've ever seen in almost 40 years. It's obviously better than the alternative especially to end the streak and on the road.

As awesome as it was to beat Iowa and as awesome as it is to be up 37-10, people have the right to be frustrated about calling back to back timeouts against Iowa only to get stuffed on 3rd down and two blocked punts, etc. Or blocked PATS or a false start right after calling a time out today with the starting offensive line and then a shanked punt.

The idea that suddenly some of this stuff gets cleaned up by next week? That's not typically how football or life for that matter works. You don't just all of a sudden decide to do something right.

Yes, we are a very young team. Yes, going 3-0 to start the year is absolutely amazing and I am very happy to see that despite what a lot of people thought we aren't just going to fall off a cliff after last year's class graduated. And sure, I'm no Bear Bryant but I do have a background in coaching a tiny bit in college and more in HS even if I was probably a crap one.

This ISN"T, to steal Coaches' phrase, the best version of ourselves out at the stadium today. Which is incredibly encouraging. Just like winning last week - yes, against a bad Iowa team - but not playing great and winning on the road was encouraging. Blowing out Ohio with the multitude of mistakes - mostly mental - is ENCOURAGING . Yes. But we're going into week 4, into league play with a massive step up and some of this stuff has happened in every game. That is not so encouraging (yes, I'm looking at you special teams)

Look at coaches' body language - does he look happy? That's all I'm saying. I'm loving the 3-0 start but we run a serious risk of being 3-1 if we can't get some of this addressed by next Saturday. More of a big picture view.

Now the young defenders have looked good. Silas has been awesome. X of course was X, etc. Reeder looks really good. There's been plenty of good. But if we want to have any chance of doing more than 6-6 or 5-7... simply winning can't be good enough if you have bigger dreams. Its where it starts, duh, obviously. But how you win matters when looking ahead IMO
Good post, War and Peace. [LOL. I just wasn't in the mood to read it all last night.] I think the excitement level continues to grow with this team. What is the potential? The ceiling is pretty high, top third of conference or maybe better.

Then we start seeing and analyzing the mistakes. Everyone talks about ST's and for good reason. This is an area that could very definitely hold this team back.

Let's see how the team responds, because I hope they are going to get a lot of coaching on the subject. I think from here on, this year, every coach is going to give a part to Special Teams, what they can. Use this analyst also; not sure hows he plays his role in all this.

But it is not as good as having a dedicated ST coach. Need to make that happen next year. It's too much of a negative pattern not to address it properly.

I'm watching now (replay is up on ESPN+).

Did anyone mention that Brock ran like Roger Craig on his 11 yardish run on the first drive?
Lots of drive through the hips and high knees.

back home and watching it now. Going to see if I can find it on YouTube to watch the rest on my flight tonight. I heard CW mention doing this and it never occurred to me. Always looking for stuff to watch on flights.

I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes the season we thought last year would be. We appear to be very good with potential for extremely good.

We'll see how it goes but there looks like more speed all over the field than I can recall and they seem ahead of schedule in some areas.

I did! I did! :)

I might have referenced Eric Dickerson. Can't remember that part.

I thought ESPN+ utilized ISU‘s Cyclones.TV “infrastructure” for our broadcasts. ESPN sends their own cameras/crew? How does it work?

Football and MBB broadcasts on ESPN+ are done just like any other regular production.
