Great defense, flat offense. Just need to clean some stuff up and get a rhythm going

I wouldn't say it's been great but the intensity has been good and our hands have been active and clean. Holmes in particular has been over-helping and has been constantly out of position.

About 3 garbage threes are making this game close. OU has been an absolute mess. If we were playing at an average level (at home) we'd be up 15 points.

We need the win but maybe just as much the offense needs to show some indications it's functioning. Pound the ball to Shoon, take in rhythm shots, and get away from the perimeter screening/cycling that's made our offense stale.

TJ still hasn’t learned that his team needs to see him stand up for them.

You know, a lot of these ticky-tac fouls probably wouldn’t get called if the staff kind of puts on the heat with the officials. TJ needs to go full Fran McCaffery on one of these officials. T.J. doesn’t balk flagrant fouls that could impact the game. I’ve noticed in past games there was a time issue that could’ve been challenged in a key moment at the end of the game. I mean, you see coaches throughout the country challenge calls/time issues. When was the last time you seen T.J. challenge something?? You would think assistants would notice too and refer something to T.J., but no. Frustrating…

Because Shoon sat the last 10 minutes

I'm talking about the last play. Holmes really shoudnt be the guy we want handling the ball there. Shoon is in and we don't even get the ball in to him. He should be touching the ball at least once on most of the possessions he is in for.

Where’d the fun go? It just seems like everyone out there is just counting down the minutes until the season can be over.
Cyclone media isn't helping, driving the narrative, whether right or wrong, that this team just needs to get to March and play teams that aren't familiar with them. Goose might as well be cooked from now until 3 weeks from now I guess.

Defense has us in the driver's seat. If we could get a little spark on offense there is no reason this cannot be a comfortable 15–20-point win or more.

Awful half of basketball. Holmes has been atrocious.

Not sure why we weren't looking for Shoon in the post. Most of our best looking possessions came when we looked for him inside.

Lipsey looks good and Grill looks better than he has. But our offensive possessions and sets have been bad.

This game shouldn't even be close as OU has gave us the ball repeatedly and looks terrible. Would still be shocked if we didn't get the win but this isn't what I had in mind with trying to get back on track.

I still cannot figure out why we go to Jones down low so often but won’t when Shoon is down there. Makes no sense.

Gotcha and can't disagree with that at all.

I think it because Shoon does a poor job of working for position. Bob , despite all his faults, works very hard for position.

The refs looked at two or three plays because TJ spoke to them. He challenged it.

I still cannot figure out why we go to Jones down low so often but won’t when Shoon is down there. Makes no sense.

The last several games Shoon was meandering around the perimeter setting lateral screens for our ******** perimeter cycling. When he did go to post he'd work the block for about 2 seconds before going back out to set screens. He wasn't even rolling to the basket off of all but a few of them. Was literally running around setting screens like to that player WVU had a few years ago.

Even if Shoon is initiating it that's on the coaches. If it's by design it's a fail and if Shoon is doing that on his own it needs to be corrected. The fact that it went on for so long and across so many games makes one think it has to be the coaches wanting that. But why? Shoon is the biggest mismatch we have, and possible the most skilled post player in the league. We should be running our offense THROUGH him, not running him around through our offense.

At least today, when he's been in, he's been on the block more.
