I would argue Tamin is playing his best basketball. Just isn’t shooting well (consistently). His control of the game is elite right now. And he’s still not 100%.

Seems to be doing much more delegating/distributing this season.

His ability to score has seemed to be much stronger the last 3-4 games.

I think Jackson, Jefferson, and Heise will all have a year after this. I thought Heise’s medical red shirt is already confirmed.
That's what I thought about Heise. In fact, I swear I saw a quote or interview with him where he talked about being here for 2 seasons. Which is great because we lose KG & CuJo after this one.

Damn we're good! Start out slow which was expected after big game on Thursday and we still win by 30. This will be a very special year!!

Can Heise come back next year too?

Answered my own question: he has just one year (this current year) of eligibility, but can apply for a medical redshirt for missing most of the 2022-23 season.

Jackson and Jefferson both can come back next year.

Love Milan but he doesn't scream "NBA-ready" to me right now, although I've not looked at any recent draft board projections.

Rotation next year could look something like:
- Lipsey SR
- Heise SR
- Nojus SO
- Milan JR
- Jackson SR
- Jefferson SR
- Rock SO

Pick up a solid guard and a wing in the portal and I like it!
Don't forget a top 10 recruiting class (#1 in Big 12) that's coming in. Guessing a couple of those guys will crack that rotation.

#1 portal need is a scoring guard with good ability to score off the bounce.
#2 need - 5 more fouls from the #5 spot

I think Rock is a great kid with a lot of skill. I question how well he fits our defense scheme. I do not necessarily seem him switching everything on defense and chasing guards 30 feet from the basket. Our defense is what makes us - I do not see us changing it.
The new freshman are very skilled - by all accounts. But most probably need a year yo prepare. Old teams win in the portal world.

BTW - Jefferson is REALLY good.

Clearly the staff thinks that he can fit or he wouldn't be here. I agree that we will need to adjust the defense to an extent due to his presence, but I think we've got the staff to do that.

Even though he is struggling a bit he has definitely shown way more confidence in his shot the last two games. He will get there.

Jackson isn't great at this either, which is why TJ seems to be going with Jefferson at the 5 and Heise in for Milan when defense become the full priority. I'm hopeful Rock can provide backup minutes next year. Not expecting him to be as capable as Chatfield this year, who is a 5th year player.

I felt that Rock was sliding his feet and moving laterally much better yesterday than I have seen out of him before. Earlier in the year he looked late and lost, while on Sunday he moved with a purpose and exhibited a defensive presence. The light may not only be coming on, but getting brighter for him.

Remember, he is still a young guy and big men take longer to develop. His time with the experienced bigs from last year and this year is going to pay dividends with JT with a little bit of patience. Fortunately, we have the depth to allow it.

That’s a bit of hyperbole on what our defense is. Jackson wouldn’t see much time if that was true.

IMO an older Rock won’t be too different than the Conditt that TJ inherited on defending away from the paint

Plus, we rotate our bigs, particularly our 5’s. Conditt, Rob, Osunniyi, King, Ward, all at 18 minutes or less, except Rob and King last year. I’d guess that at some point Rock can give us 10 to 15 minutes/gm, which is that 2 or 3 big role for us
