Again. I'm not saying Rhoads is not the guy. I'm saying we call this like it is and hold all involved accountable immediately. This "give me time", and we need to do this and do that cyclone mantra excuse garbage has to go. We spend money. We demand certain things. The problem with cyclone country is that they don't demand anything better than flashes of some day being good. Enough of this.

If you are on the message board you call this game out and say this is garbage. You can't throw into double and triple coverage all day and be a big 12 QB.

If you are in the newpaper, tv, etc. call the spade the spade.

Unnacceptable. Clean it up now. no excuses.

Any chance you heard the postgame interviews? I didn't hear a single excuse from players or CPR. So now what.

Well, Iowa certainly imposed their will all the way to the end. Quite a setback for ISU after last weeks game. The only team ISU beat today were themselves. Greener pastures ahead, I hope. We will get it together! I don't want to see any www.firePaulRhoads.com threads! He will get the job done, just give him and his staff some time, and he will prevail in the not to distant future. We'll police ourselves up, and go back to the drawing board. We will win! We will get better! As ever, Go Cyclones!

ISU definitely beat themselves. Minus the turnovers, it would have been a close game.

Well I tivo'd this game, and then ended up skipping through it and watching the entire game in less than an hour. It felt like I was watching a JV team, pretty ugly...pretty much the same as the past few years.

First, I'll take Rhodes over Chizik any day.

Second, I can only remember one important drop from the receivers. The problem was that we constantly were thowing the ball when we should have been running it... and we threw into tripple coverage over and over.

Third, the play calling was horrible in my humble opinion. I keep thinking about the drive when I think it was 7-3 when we passed for a three and out when our running game was looking great. Seemed like we were trying to force a passing game that never materialized.

Four, I must be on some major coolaide because I still think that Iowa State is a better team than Iowa.... or at least could be with the right disipline and play calling.

Five, The D really was up to play. Maybe next week they can spend some time preparing the offense?

Six, I'm going to go on record to say that we win 6 games this year. Why not? We had enough penalties and turnovers today to cover the rest of the season. I must say that I picked us to win 3 last year and none the year before...

Seven, its a joke how overpaid Rhodes obviously is... However, at least he wants to be there. Chizik on the other hand....

The lack of fundamentals were shocking - and we've become a finesse team on offense. What's wrong with lining up and driving them off the ball? UNI proved they could do it...

Yeah the coaches claimed this day one that fundamentals were appaling. I expect to see that improve over the course of this year and as we add more talent. Why we didnt run the ball more is beyond me. We showed we could do it on them.

J.P. prides himself on being a "big picture" guy. I am merely trying to point out that the "big picture" here is not pretty. You are exactly right, J.P. is not throwing the balll but he is the guy ultimately responsible for a football program which is in disarray and headed in the wrong direction. Don't blame the coaches and players. They are doing the best they can in a situation created by the man in charge--Jamie Pollard. It was not fun listening to the TV talking heads talking about the consistency of the Iowa program as opposed to our players trying to sort through three offensive schemes when trying to throw a pass...

First, you don't have to be talented to be fundamentally sound...in fact if you're less talented you damned well better be fundamentally sound.

Second, I agree...I thought we should have run the ball more...we showed great effectiveness on the ground early in the game.

But I think this is what we are building now. Rhoads wants to be here and I think he will be our long term guy. Pollard figured that out and now all we can do is wait. Was Rhoads available during our search last time?

True, but some guys get it and some dont. This is why we have our current mix of issues.

It not that you got knocked down, it how you react when you do get knocked down. Time to get ready for a must win next week. Lets end the road losing streak.

Which is why the second half of this game and the fourth quarter especially was so depressing.

That's very gracious, and somewhat true. Iowa was more consitent and executed better. On TV they appeared to cover our receivers pretty well. They took advantage of the opportunities they were given. They kicked our butts. There have only been 3 lop-side games, and all of them have been in Ames. You have a very tough schedule ahead of you. I hope you win your conference. Your running back situation is going to make that really tough, but you have all the other pieces and may find a way to compensate (getting 6 TO's per game could work). Anyhow, good luck.

1. We should have run the ball more
2. We made too many stupid decisions
3. Arnaud made way too many poor decisions today. He threw into double, triple, and quadruple coverage way too much.

Well I am definitely not here to gloat because honestly I thought you guys were going to beat us by two scores after last week. The story here was the QB play. Not sure what happened with Arnaud maybe he just had one of those days either way he is a better player than what he showed today. I am wondering if nerves did him in but you would not think that would be a problem after last year. Stanzi has to make better decisions if we have any hope of winning against teams like PSU and OSU.

As a Hawkeye fan I am just glad we found our running back and we seem to have decent running backs behind him. With new coaches you are going to have some growing pains for a few years and I get the feeling you have a good one in your current coach. Your D was better than advertised and that could build into a strength for you if you get the CB position sorted out.

The only thing I will rib you a little about is the TD situation. You guys are snake bit against us when it comes to the red zone for some reason. Lucky for us we kept you from kicking a dozen field goals this year.

Good luck in the big 12 guys.
