Went from putting stuff together on Christmas morning to now charging everything on Christmas morning. The amount of crap plugged in is insane. We had to rob bricks from basically everything in the house.

I’d be interested to see a breakdown on how many do/have done Santa. Feels like it’s got to be on the decline.
Dressed up as Santa while dropping off the gifts or just saying the gifts are from Santa?

I think that’s still going pretty strong based on my extended family/friends I have who are teachers

Had a climbing thing to put together, otherwise it wasn’t too bad.

Neighbors said Santa brings their kids just one present and it’s never an expensive item. They don’t want their children going to school & telling classmates they got something expensive (or a lot of presents) and possibly making other kids feel like Santa didn’t like them or something. IMO - not a bad idea.

For those that spend hours Christmas morning putting things together after they’ve been opened….my Santa always had everything together and ready to play with!! :D Santa didn’t wrap our presents. They would all be out, ready to go and next to our filled stockings. Just an idea…

Our sons would ask if Santa was real and my answer was always “I believe”. Also, Santa always left a note for them next to the plate of cookie crumbs. Thankfully Santa, who is right handed, used her left hand to write the note. It helped later on when the boys became suspicious and took handwriting samples one year!

Can confirm the hand writing did in the Easter bunny in my childhood.

My wife said I couldn't go to sleep until it was all done. Putting the finishing touches on it now. Kids are 5 and 7 and somehow the magic is still very alive. I wouldn't put it past my 7 year old to set an alarm for 1159 to try to catch Santa... so we better get this done quick.

230am motion detected. She had mercy on us to wait until 6am to wake us up

We’re taking that approach with Santa as well with one small gift.

Left hand is great idea!

Our Santa presents were unwrapped but covered with a sheet, so there was like a unveiling once Dad got back in from chores. It worked just fine for our family.

My boy is 11 and our girls are 8.
I told them Santa only delivers gifts to kids who believe. Our kids still believe.
I think what helps is Santa doesn’t wrap gifts or write names on them. No handwriting or similar gift wrap to give clues.
All gifts from Santa are put together and ready to be played with Christmas morning. No packaging or store tags to give clues. Garbage thrown in the neighbors trash
I stay up until 2 or 3 in the morning putting thing together and sometimes playing with the toys.
Wife and I just set them under the tree and the kids find them in the morning and we sleep in

When my 9 year old was about 4, he couldn’t drop it. Asked so many questions and called out the non-answers. I think we all felt better when we told him Santa wasnt real. He’s like buddy the elf though. Loves Christmas.

My current 4 year old is the same & proclaims readily that he isn’t real.

My current 6 year old wants so bad to believe, but it’s tough with her fun-sucking siblings.

I spent 4 hours putting together a lighted vanity for my 16 year old. There were so many ******* pieces, it almost felt intentional. I'm surprised I didn't have to cast my own screws.

The reality of Santa has never come uo in conversation in our house. When they were young they seemed to just believe. When they realized it wasn't, it went unspoken. Makes it easier for our youngest that still clings to it.

The funny is only for the "cast my own screws" otherwise I feel you most the time assembling stuff sucks.
