The Drake game put a dagger in me, the Iowa game twisted it around so that it hurt like hell .........and this game pulled the dagger out and wiped the blood off on my shirt..........pardon me while I lay here and bleed to death.

What about the Hawaii game?

I would hope that Jamie attends some practices to determine how the b-ball program has sunk to this level. If you ignored the "Iowa State" on the jerseys, you'd have thought SDSU was playing Loras or Morningside, or worse. I cannot understand how we have become so bad; GMac's UNI teams never played like this...

This is a great point. If you step away and take of your cardinal and gold glasses and someone asked you, NONE of you would think this was a BIG XII team and most would think it wasn't even good enough to be an MVC team. I think there are quite a few D2 teams that would paste us at HOME if given the chance.

He's had the 'in over his head' look for three years now. I think it is worse and more noticeable this year than the first two.

Yes, but I saw several impressive UNI games, under GMac, against big-time teams. The win at LSU, who I believe went to the Final Four later that year. Their close first-round loss in the NCAA to a very, very good Georgia Tech team. They ran a deliberate offense, but ran it very well, with a purpose. They competed 100%, all the time.
This team...has no purpose, just throws up shots, and does not compete. Again, I don't get it...

Dana Altman, Larry Eustachy.

You really think Altman would be any different? He has his shot at KSU and didnt get it done. He probaly doesnt want it anyway he has been passed over for the job twice now and he has a good thing going and he is getting paid well. The only reason he would take it is to prove he can win at ISU and McD couldnt. No way LE is allowed to coach at ISU as long as Pres Geof is in Ames.

Thanks for the conversation and letting me vent folks. Got to get to sleep as work calls in the morning.

Hopefully I'll dream about '99 -'00 and have visions of Marcus Fizer crushing Chris Mihm.

Dang, is that really 9 years ago?

I doubt Altman was passed over for the ISU job.

Mac took over a program that was diving into a disaster. He was handed the reigns to a program that was quickly falling apart. He's slowly building the program back up to what it needs to be, to be continually successful instead of having a flashy year every once in a while. If you want Morgan, go watch him installing Satelites. Mac is 20 times a better coach than Morgan.

Next year is his last if they don't perform, but we'd only be shooting ourselves in the foot if we fired him after this year. It would probably take a decade before we'd recover.

And freakin relax, it was an embarrassing loss but the season isn't halfway over yet.

Amen dude. Don't forget this is year 3 of losing key players....if we had Wesley, we win 3 of the games we've lost so far (SDSU, Drake and Hawaii). While yes, Wes leaving is due to Mac in some respect....its a tough hand to play.

Ahem. All that said, i too am unbelievably saddened at how our one true ray of light (in men's athletics) -- basketball -- has slid this quickly. We were in the Elite 8....and here we are. Keep the faith peoples. I know its hard. But keep the faith

PREDICTION:
This year we go in the tank with no more than 15 wins with one of the most easiest non conf. schedules ever.

Next Year: Find our way into the NIT

Year After: 8 Seed in Tourney and we have juniors and Seniors and a system finally in place where he plugs and plays players.

IMO only. I think he needs to show serious progress though to keep donors from getting crappy, which is not happenning currently

Next season our excuse will be that these new athletes that are gonna "save us" are new to our system and freshmen. The year after that our excuse will be that we lost some experienced players to graduation (or at least ran out of eligibility). That and that we didn't get HB whom any coach other than GMac would have a shot at.

Dana Altman did a helluva lot more at K-State compared to what McDermott is doing here.

Dana Altman also goes to the NCAA all the time. I really don't think anybody has any room to bash Atlman, when we have a guy like Mcdermott running are program.
