Maryland getting a 4 means that Iowa State, Oklahoma, and Baylor are almost certainly the remaining 3's. Good news for ISU because we will be the top selection out of that group. South 3 looking more likely for us.

My guess is to avoid a potential Big 12 rematch in the round of 32 and that's the only reason.

In the grand scheme of things, I think most ISU fans would be ok with that (a few days after the loss, anyway).
