*** Official SELECTION SUNDAY Thread ***

Too bad record in last ten games isn't a stated criterion anymore. It would have given us another feather in the cap over KU in addition to head to head.

If you go to Holly Rowe's twitter, you'll see a picture of Cameron Ellis. His team just won the Kansas 5A state championship. Coincidentally, like his brother, his jersey number also reflects his age.

Looking the last couple years, I think ISU's was probably good for the last two seed both years. Not this year, though.

Notre Dame, KU, and ISU are looking like only teams with shot at last 2. The last 2 seed will be placed in the Midwest region as East (Virginia), West (Arizona), and South (Gonzaga) are spoken for.

If KU gets the last 2 seed, ND will get 3 seed in Midwest and ISU will get 3 seed in South as it is next closest region.
If ND gets 2 seed, it will come down to who is higher 3 seed between ISU/KU. Highest 3 gets the Midwest region. Other team gets South region.
If ISU gets 2 seed, ND will be the 3 seed in the Midwest and KU will get sent to the South.

Sweet 16 & Elite 8 are looking like one of the following if seeding were to hold.
Midwest: Notre Dame > UK
South: Gonzaga > Duke
No one said it was supposed to be easy.

This all gets thrown off if Wisconsin loses today however.

Hope the committee goes with your reasoning

IF ISU is in fact a 2 seed, Wisconsin falling to a 2 seed would be great news. I agree that it comes down to KU, ND and ISU for the last 2 seed and the top 2 3 seeds.

What the **** are we going to do waiting for Thu or Fri game? I am already starting to go into withdrawals.

I don't see any way ND is a #2 seed with an RPI of 16 and a SOS in the 70s with 5 losses.

Hope the committee goes with your reasoning
Top four seeds are placed in nearest region possible based on S-curve.
We will likely be the first or second 3 seed with KU, ND, and ISU in the mix. Top 3 seed will go to Midwest as that is closest region for all 3 teams. KU is likely to be the 2 seed in the Midwest which means we cannot be the 3 in that region (committee doesn't match conference foes until Elite 8). We will be next highest 3 seed at that point so we will get the next closest region (South).

If Notre Dame somehow gets that 2 seed we will be the 3 seed in that region.
Kansas is closer to Houston than Cleveland.
We are closer to Cleveland than Houston.
