Based on all this I could see more sandbaggig. Sampson even said in his post game interview after winning the semifinal that he wished they could just go home and rest.
Yep. And with auto bids your conference might get more teams in

We had to of been the #11/12 overall seed going into the tournament. Winning it moved us up to the last 2 seed
We were probably 9 with Baylor 8 and we as fans put way too much stock into the conference tourney whereas the committee is looking at 30 games not 3

Positives: South Dakota State/Washington State/Illinois (if seeding holds) to get to the Elite 8 is a bracket I would have jumped on all day, every day, and while I think the part that stinks is that we could meet Drake, the good part is that both SDSU and Drake will have our full attention with our familiarity (the lack of which usually works to the underdog's advantage in the tournament).

I can't believe that there is almost no weight put into the conf tourney (literally your most recent games) and this big weight on non con (teams can change over the course of a year). Also say you take the whole season into account but literally ignoring the conference tournament games doesn't make sense
I wonder if players will start sitting out more now? Kansas getting a 4 seed also confirms that logic.

I'm actually not as upset about Uconn. The Big East was hot garbage outside the top 3 teams as evidenced by St. Johns and Seton Hall getting left out.
They beat up on a bunch of bad teams all year.

CBS crew being pretty snarky about the ISU v UCONN possibility

"i dont know how many ISU fans will make to Boston" and then everyone snickers .
That makes me want to go there and just be obnoxious af.

Too bad Gumbel wasn't there, he is a Loras grad, maybe he would have stuck up for Iowa a bit.

BYU is not a great matchup for us. Are you watching a lot of BYU games? Have you watched a lot of our games?
Yeah you have the athletes and defense to shut them down hard and already have tape on them. You are the better team, it’s eaiser to play an inter conference team like BYU for the coaches as well. You have a better staff, better players, and better record in big games. So yeah i expect you to beat BYU or Illinois if they even get that far

Yes. East Coast elitism at it's finest. You know that c********* wanted desperately to say "not sure those Iowa State fans can afford to get to Boston"
It was multifaceted. That’s what makes it elite.

‘Those hicks can’t afford it’
‘It’s too far away to drive their tractors’
‘That team is a home court advantage fluke’
