The last 2 minutes of football have made me feel so much worse about this team
That was an overconfidence INT from Dekkers. He has been out there throwing darts all half, and just tried a crazy longt throw across and paid for it. Learning experience.
Dodged a bullet. Kneel down and get out then come out and stop lallygagging.
The announcers jinxed it. It was 21-0 and they said all the momentum is in cardinal and gold right now. Touchdown SEMO a few plays later and then the nearly pick 6.
So about all those people saying don't worry about slow September starts because SEMO is a different level of bad....
Can we try running the damn ball? I know Dekkers a stud but some idea of balance would be good

Oooof. Rough last couple of minutes. Regroup at halftime and come back out with the same fire from the first 27 minutes of the half.
Agree it would be nice to establish a little more balance on offense in 2nd half.
On defense- we need to stop the QB runs & movement in the pocket. This is a case where we should bring 4 guys every pass play and keep lane discipline. Too many gaps for this QB with a 3 man rush.
To be fair, shitting the bed in the last few minutes before halftime is hardly just a first game thing from Iowa state the last couple decades
We've scored 21 points with a first time starting QB.
And as bad as the defense has looked - we gave up 7 points on a non-short field to a team that scored 28 on Missouri.
Comparatively, this is as fast as an Iowa State team has played in an opener since... IDK.

We're on pace to win 42-20. Easily the best opener of the Campbell era. That doesn't mean the defensive secondary hasn't looked brutal.
But this has still been the best overall first half in the Campbell era since 2017 when we won 42-24 over UNI.
Only 20 rushing yards????? I would have thought that we should hit that number on the first drive...
