Well at this pace, we’d likely be a 11/12 seed…possible first 4 type situation. May be a trendy picky TO upset someone.
Obviously players need to make shots, but this is gut check time for the coaches. How the team responds will tell me a lot about TJ as a coach
Not like they should…. they settled for horrible guarded 3’s instead.
There were many times where I saw players standing and watching. Maybe I'm just overestimating it but when they do move it's the same action that defenses know as well as we do.

I'd need an abacus to calculate how many wide-open shots they missed today. Just horrible, for no other reason than just having a bad day.
I get that the team should be able to attack and collect points, but they also should be able to shoot >10% from distance regardless of scenario...
Walker needs to get some run. No guards are playing well enough to justify not. More minutes for Enaruna too
Yes- I think we have the horses…just need to keep it together. We’ve beat too many teams that will be in the tourney for us to be absent.
Love the team. Sad to see them run out of legs and lose confidence after the refs treated them harshly at KU, TT and OU. The boys need a big change/break to rejuvenate their confidence and faith in the Cinderella season
Anyone that get the opposing defense to have to react instead of just guard.
Guess I disagree that there were a bunch of open looks. Most of the threes were coming hard off a screen and with a close out. while that isn’t an incredibly difficult shot, when you are a bad 3P shooting team you are going to get those all day… by design. And if those are the shots this team gets they are going to mostly lose. Most of Brockingtons shots were challenged. They neee to find a way to get a few decent looks in the paint, some opportunities attacking the rim and getting to the line. They get good looks off the inbounds under the hoop.
The quality of looks ISU got today was pretty underwhelming. Every team is going to stumble into some good looks. Chicago St had a fair number of open or decent looks against ISU. But consistently all day today it took a ton of work to get a shot period, let alone a really good shot.
it seems we don't have the horses. Just an observation but most of the teams in the big 12 seem longer, bigger/thicker, and more athletic than we are.
I agree "this team is what it is" and nothing short of a miracle is going to change that...This is NOT a GOOD SHOOTING/OFFENSIVE TEAM.
I love the D, but you gotta put points on the board. TCU beat us inside with baseline cuts for dunks etc and we never went to 2-3 zone. Make em beat you from the 3 point line. We put so much into D we’re tired on O and it shows. Our bigs on O just need to set picks at the top and roll to the hoop/block to many times defenders come from behind and knock the ball out because they’re not FACING the hoop. At this point just figure out how to get more O and get to the tournament that’s the goal.
Are we sure of this? Just because he was rolling his back doesn’t mean he couldn’t come back in.

The other thing that seems lost on this team is extending the game when down late. It's happened in several games, when they are behind late, they just start chucking long shots.
Of course, ISUs ability to extend the game is severely hampered when nobody can drive to the hoop and generate fouls. The inability to take it in the paint offensivley hurts in a number of different ways. They have got to work on this.

Time to reinvent the offense, and actually teach how to finish at the rim. We can’t be a 3-point shooting team. Force contact and put the officials in situations where fouls must be called. The fact we gave up 59 points and were blown out on our home court is nuts and shows we could probably not practice defense the rest of the season and be just fine. Take the offense back to the fundamentals and figure out how to slow the game down a bit more so we don’t commit so many pointless turnovers.
