Richardson just needs to let it rip. I don't care if no one appears open. Just throw it up there. Every good team completes several passes a game to receivers that aren't open because college dbacks aren't good enough to actually make a play on the ball. Its worked EVERY time we've done it tonight. Its either a catch or a penalty.

Sam got his turnover so now it's back to conservative Sam. There's going to be a lot of 3 and outs the second half. Then we'll put lanning once it's too late.

I don't agree. Good teams have an accurate passer that puts the ball where their receiver can make a play. So far, we haven't shot ourselves in the foot with several stupid turnovers. Asking SR to force things just doesn't seem like a winning solution.

I'm not saying Richardson can't win it. But I'd much rather watch Lanning try. I feel like we're playing scared now, shocked that we're in the game and like we're trying to protect a lead we don't have.

Richardson is playing with his usual inconsistency. And so many games this year started with a great first half, with the worst second ever. Keep it crazy. Go with Lanning, at least for a couple drives. Test if there's magic in the air.

Agree with this. Our offense was playing loose in the first quarter. The kind of dynamic play calling that I expected out of Mangino all along. The second quarter seems more conservative, but it may just be perception caused by Sam's inability to execute plays--even wide open 5 yard passes. Hard to be dynamic, if you can't hit those.

I felt like that TD pass by Lanning made Sam play better for at least a couple of series. I'd keeping coming in with the Lanning offense every couple of series to keep that pressure to perform on Sam. And if the Lanning offense is doing better, just switch to him.

If Lazard is single covered, he's open as long as you get some are under the ball. Defensive backs never turn around, worst case is an incomplete pass.

Only at ISU does a QB throw a 74yd TD pass and then not see the field most of the way forward. I understand he isn't much better overall than Sam, but clearly he gave us a spark and after 5 years Sam isn't going to suddenly get better.

To be fair, that TD was almost all on Lazzard. But otherwise I agree with you.
