Babb told me he has the J'Covan Brown assignment tonight and he's excited about the challenge! Expect a big game out of him on both ends of the floor.

If we show up and play hard: 83-79 ISU

If we're still having the same problems: 86-72 Texas

No flu doesn't mean he will have the legs at the end of the game. That flu crap takes it out of you. Literally.

Good analysis CyCash. It'd be nice to be up by 10 with a couple minutes to play, cuz I feel like it'll finish out about a 2-4 pt game in the end. ISU 70- TU 67

thanks, have only watched Texas once against North Carolina and they looked bad (they did play NC so it's understandable) but their guards played poorly against an average NC backcourt.

If we can stop Brown, we have a great chance of winning, like I said stop his dribble drive and we're good to go.

interesting matchups in this game...Texas has 2 capable point guards against our 0...they will press us at times (see McD 2nd half with Brackins) because they know our PG play is bad.

Myck Kabongo
J'Covan Brown
Shelden McClellan
Jonathan Holmes
Alexis Wangmene

they have lots of freshmen...with this being there first road B12 game they'll be nervous.
I think Bubu will get major minutes tomorrow...with there guard situation being stacked we'll need a guard lineup

If I was coach, I would start this

Allen
SC
Babb
Ejim
White

Bubu the first off the bench, McGee, Booker(I think he could do good regarding the matchup), and Gibson

This lineup matches up size wise and athletic wise with them...I'd have SC guard Kabongo because he will be the primary point with Brown as the slasher...have Babb guard Brown and Allen guard McClellan or Julien Lewis who will be off the bench at guard...if Clint Chapman comes in then have Booker come in as that is a good matchup for Booker, just tell him to box out Chapman and we'll be good.

Also, throw it into WHITE!! He will be on Wangmene and should have a good matchup with him..Wangmene doesn't score to much so he can be the middle of the zone...I do think we should play zone as they aren't a good shooting team...they feed off of Brown's dribble drive...need to know where he is at all times.

In summary, Texas is really down this year and I think we win given that the crowd comes out and White isn't sick and ready to go..we will need him in this one.

Babb goes hits 4 3's in the 1st half and blows the lid off the basket. The rest of the team follows suit. Texas will make a run in the 2nd cutting it down to a squeaker. Texas misses the go ahead bucket and big rebound by the Clones seals the deal. W for State and heart attack for the rest of us.

Fred gets wild hair and pops in Sledge who puts in a strong 6pts in the 2nd hlaf big spark for victory. Melvin picks up 11 boards on the night and has another solid game.

This is a tough game to predict. I know one thing though, if we can't get up for a big conference opponent tonight, I doubt we will the rest of the season.

I expect us to play hard, hopefully that's enough to win. It's do-able. Just do it.

Shame it is on ESPNU and ESPN3. I get ESPN3 being on campus like everyone else, but if I was in Ames, I'd be watching it live. Why couldn't they play this game in Austin today and then Ames later on in the season? Outrageous.

I hope we kill Texas, but I don't see a killing. I hope we win and that is all I care about. It's going to be hard for us without a point guard.

I don't think a lack of interest or focus will be a problem tonight. I don't worry about the games against the big time programs; the effort will be there for those. I worry about the very winnable games against the likes of TT and Okie State.
If the shots are falling tonight and Babb finds his stroke, I can see ISU winning a close one.

"Scouts from the Pacers, Bucks, Hawks, 76ers, Jazz, T-Wolves and the Rockets will be in attendance at tonight's Iowa State-Texas game."

Not worried about the effort from the individuals playing on our team, more worried about the "I" in team showing through tonight.
