Why does your FCS opponent matter? When you’re the number 7 team in the nation it shouldn’t matter if you’re playing JMU, SDSU, or the worst team in FCS. This shouldn’t even be a game.
Did you hear the litany of D1 transfers on UNIs roster. Lots of talented players from bad teams or with academic issues end up at top 10 FCS teams. It gives them a chance to showcase in the playoffs.

They have 30 less scholarships

There's a reason all those guys ended up at UNI, and it's not because they proved themselves to be FBS caliber players.

UNI almost always had 11 men within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage and we never made them pay. Why not stretch them out and then try running the ball?

Honest question: who would stretch things out?

UNI chose one aspect.
I’d assume Iowa next week targets Hall and Kolar and makes everyone else have to beat them.

I was disappointed with a couple of things at tryce today:

1) no juicy wiggle?!
2) no sweet Caroline on the PA after the game (yes I know alot hate that)

Any others?

I love the experience... But why stop such a good thing with juicy wiggle?

I think Manning was napping through the offseason. How do you regress with so many starters returning on your offense.
I remember being told I was an idiot this summer for saying I wish we had someone else in there for playcalling. He's way too happy to run into the teeth of the defense over and over.

He's done a lot of good for the program, but I fear Iowa State misses out on ceiling seasons because of it.

#20 Washington just lost to Montana. So I guess today could have been much worse.

Iowa State's offense scored more touchdowns and field goals than Clemson and Georgia's offenses tonight, COMBINED

Washington, Illinois, Georgia Tech, and Vandy all just lost to mid majors. It could be so much worse. At least they won

Remember how Fred used transfers to speed up the rebuild? The same thing applies here. Upper class transfers can come in every year to fill the gaps with 30 less scholarships. There is no way transfers come into top FCS teams if they aren’t a talent upgrade. Do you remember the original Benny Sapp transferring to UNI. That was the current Benny Sapp’s Father, also known as Warren Sapps cousin. That guy was the poster child for plenty of talent in need of new scenery and a second chance. If your point is the transfers aren’t Alabama talent level sure.

I don't want to rip on CMC too much........but this game has too much of a Danny Mac feel to it. I know UNI is salty.....but it seems he is playing not to lose instead of playing to win.
Yeah except Danny Mac would actually blow the doors off UNI like Iowa State always should to fcs schools
