Guys we play UNI because we pay them less than market value and we still make money. Why change it? Would an extra win against SE Missouri St really matter schedule-wise? It would probably bring in less money. So why stop scheduling UNI?

UNI was daring us to throw all night. Lanning was not very accurate, especially deep. If Park is more accurate, give him a shot. Might be better to throw more with our line. Plays that get ball out quickly. ****, I don't know.

Because I don't give a **** about money. I want wins. I want bowl games. I want recruits to see wins and bowl games. Recruits seeing losses to UNI and poor records year in and year out is not good.

I too get quite upset when ISU loses. But this is what new beginnings look like. I remember something I read on this site (no idea who said it) "--we dont play because we will win, we play because we might lose". Every game is a risk. We will see our Cyclones lose more games this year. And those will suck too. But if Campbell is the leader most of us want him to be (and I have faith that he definitely is) then the wins will come. And they will be glorious. In the meantime, I refuse to let this game ruin my day. Instead, I'm going to keep on chugging the Campbell brand Cardinal and Gold Kool Aid.

Was it just me or did it seem like there was a lack of energy inside JTS tonight? It seemed dead, even when we had the lead.

That's usually what happens when your offense is dreadful outside of about 4 plays

Yeah, there really was no flow to that offensive game plan at all tonight. I think most folks in the stands were probably holding their breath waiting to see what the next disastrous miscue would bring. Would it be another ill-timed turnover (no real good time for one, but each of the TO's tonight seemed to come at the absolute worst times and field positions)? Would our guys crash into each other again and cause another wasted play? Another injury?

Really just an agonizing game to watch tonight. Poorly played almost throughout.

Paul Rhoads would have lost this game anyways. Campbell needs time. Plenty of coaches have lost the first game against bad teams.

If this is about Money then we should be doing a 2 for 1 against USC, FSU, Notre Dame. That loss doesn't ding us at all and we actually get the benefit of being on national TV more than likely. SE Missouri State would at least be a win that would be worth the money if we went that direction. The gate income from UNI and UNI having all of our record attendances isn't because we are playing UNI it is because it is the season opener and that typically is against UNI. Put anyone else in there and our fanbase will still sell out the stadium, even more so if you're going to see one of the big national programs come through Jack Trice. If we even have a pulse against them we gain so much more.

This isn't an "oh they are winning so lets stop playing them" situation. It is a we have a 50/50 shot against a lower division team that is likely better than us and a loss is embarrassing but a win can only benefit us in getting to 6 wins and a bowl game. (Or even breaking the 3 win mark in a season, period.)

One of the worst college games I have ever watched. Keep in mind, UNI made several unbelieveable mistakes, any one of which would cost you the game against a decent team. I was prepared to lose tonight, and pretty much every game this year. I look at this year as a throw away year.

Yep. Uni was terrible.

It would be one thing to lose. But to lose and witness terrible coaching by your new coach is really bad. And it is really bad when your new coaching staff was billed as geniuses who work together as one well oiled genius coaching machine. They were the ******* keystone cops out there tonight. 3 minutes left and Allen Lazard I s the only player worth a crap and you hand it off to mike warren who has maybe 20 yards and a history of fumbling away coaches jobs? You clearly tell a 12th player to enter the game on a kickoff? You ice a 15 yard FG.

MATT CAMBELL AND TOM MANNING WERE AT MT. UNION. I had no idea what the hell mt Union was until I was told you learned to be a genius coach there.
