NFL: ***Official Week 9 Thread***

I don't mind a QB being mobile - Rodgers, Wilson and Luck typically pick up a couple first downs each game with their legs. But an NFL qb has to be able to make his progressions and see the whole field. The problem with the guys you mentioned is that their first instinct is to tuck the ball and run if their first read isn't there. NFL defenders are too fast for that to be effective.

Agree on Rodgers, Wilson (kind of), and Luck. I don't consider Rodgers and Luck duel threat guys though.

I find it funny all the analysts were correct when they said that the running quarterbacks who dominated 2 years ago would kind of fade away. Cam, Kaep, RGIII, etc. play like shells compared to what they were 2 years ago.

Exactly what I've been saying all along. The run first QBs are no more than a fad. Once they get beat up they slow down. Guys like Manning and Rodgers will live on forever due to their amazing arm strength, accuracy, and ability to read defenses. There are ways to stop QBs from running out of the packet, but nobody can prevent accuracy in a game plan.
