Running game makes a big difference. Norton and Silas had some nice ones today (and space to make things happen). Hopefully Brock is ok for next week. Dekkers with a nice game also. Happy we got the W (and I was in the stand too see it).

Only caught the 4th quarter but it's nice to finally win a football game. 0-9 would have been a full blown disaster

Anyone else get horrible production on the postgame MC interview? Man ESPN+ production value is so brutal.
I couldn't even watch it, on either YouTube, or ESPN+. But it's more a problem with out poor ATT high speed (barf) internet, I'm pretty sure, due to our rural location.

Waiting for the free Elon Musk worldwide internet, for the poor! Just like I've bee waiting for that extended cab, full-size truck that gets 50 mpg. Wait! They have that now! Electric haha, but I'm not paying 100,000K for it! :D

Nobody answered my question earlier. Posts get buried in a game thread, I know.

But I'll repeat, I saw Scheelhaase seemingly doing a lot of play calling in the first half. Did he get a crack at it today? What was Manning doing?

Scheelhaase signals in the calls that Manning makes.

Scheelhaase is also incharge of the KR and PR Teams

Thanks!

Manning (ahem, and Campbell) called a better game today.

We just need consistency now. Consistent good game planning/calling.

It just seems like a yo-yo right now.

Honestly, we looked bad to mediocre until the 4th quarter. Then we got a very timely roughing the punter call, and it was like a switch was flipped. From that point on, we looked good!
So, I wimped out today. Woke up to the continuing rain in Des Moines and didn't even think about going with my buddy who lives in Ames. By the time I realized the sky was blue, it was too late to head up there, meet up with him and go. Plus, my wife was cooking a nice pot roast (with yukon gold potatoes and carrots). So, I stayed home and listened on the radio and ate pot roast.

I had no issue with that decision until the Cyclones turned on the jets in the 4th. Then, I wished I was there! Oh well. Lesson learned. FWIW, back in the day (1989-95), I never missed a game due to weather - including that 1991 Colorado Game the day after the two feet of snow fell. So, I am going to let today's miss be the counter to going to that brutal game in 1991. Back in the saddle for TT on the 18th!

That’s infinitely preferable to another humiliating beat down which probably still wouldn’t get TCU in the playoffs anyways.

TCU should ask the committee to get it in writing that 13 games is preferred # of games. Some years they require a full 13, other years 6 is better than 11 or 12.

I'm not sure we want to have Brock back unless he's absolutely 100% and like the Brock we saw early in the season. I think Norton and Silas are better options at this point unless Brock is back to himself again.

That was interesting...did something really change for ISU, or did WVU just wear down because they are undermanned? In conference, WVU's defense is giving up over 42 PPG, and in their past two games, they gave up 13 to TCU and 17 to TTU in the 4th quarter, so they aren't finishing well as of late.

I thought we still looked shaky on offense. The defense shut them down. I still don't think we're very good, but we were better than them. That may have to be enough at this point in this season. I'm not a big fan of the Ketchup uniforms.
I like the all-cardinal. It's sort of a standard (or was) with Campbell, and because our gold is bright and there isn't much of it, it works. The black is still a nice augmentation (chinstrap, undershirt, etc.) with them.

I hope we see them at least 1x/year.

Reminds me of the 2000-2 Era! Didn't the Cyclones wear the all-cardinal in the insight.com Bowl win over Pitt?

We found a formation that allowed us to run. 2 or 3 TE's with one being big #97.

Early on the OLB/DE was crashing from the backside and disrupting the running game. We made the adjustment to use 2 or 3 TE's (sometimes one on each wing and sometimes 2 on the same side) and it took away the OLB/DE crashing.

And this is not the uni thread, but if we went present gold pants, or gold helmet, people would complain with that.

That's why we need to keep the present gold (a number of reasons) and ADD our '70's sunflower gold as well (or close to it). We could incorporate gold more 'and get away with it'!

OK, sorry for the uni rant. Carry on.
