I wouldn't know any better (not a D1 football recruit!) but I doubt it's much of a factor. The coach leaving is a possibility at the great majority of programs, regardless of if they are on the NFL radar or not.
They have no reason to worry about it either way. Everybody gets a free transfer opportunity when coaches move on, so why concern yourself with it until it happens?

Good point, but I’m more concerned about how other coaches will try to use this against him. “Son, you don’t want to go to Iowa State! You know their coach is gonna be gone as soon as he gets an NFL offer! Heck, he’s already interviewing to get outta there!” (Or something like that.) ,
Hate to tell you that's an old mind set there too. If you haven't heard there's 20 million just within the universities athletic department to divvy up amongst player in the entire department. So the conversation is now what did ISU offer you, 50k? well I can do 100k for you. That is what is going to make the kids decision right there.

I mean a coach can say whatever he wants but actions speak louder than words.

Several NFL teams have had serious interest in him. Whether he's talked to/interviewed with them is unknown. It is also unknown if he has interviewed with the Bears this team.
Thank you. I didn’t know whether any actual NFL interviews had occurred recently or in the past.

Thank you, point well taken.

Best of luck to the Bears, and their fans, if they hire Matt. He would not make a good NFL head coach at all IMO. College football is his wheelhouse. Molding 18-22 year olds into grown mature men. Teaching the game, and also life's lessons.
You missed teaching kids to become the best version of themselves

His name has been rumored with both NFL jobs and high profile college jobs for years. That's all the ammo other coaches need. There were plenty of articles that mentioned him as a strong candidate for most of those jobs throughout his time in Ames.
Thank you. Good point.

Someone can post a tweet saying the Bears are interested in talking to Campbell and we can have a whole week of hand wringing over it, but if you go to Chicago media there's not even a whisper of it.

We got played. Don't contribute to making this bigger than what it was, an attempt to ding ISU with a particular recruit here or there.

CMC and his staff can actually use this media speak. “Our coach’s record speaks for itself. Top college programs and the NFL recognize it. But he’s continued to show that he loves being at Iowa State and has unfinished business in Ames. As Coach Campbell has said— We still have a TEAM in Ames, Iowa.”
