too bad all the good houses got kicked off and/or replaced with the AGR, Farmhouse, Triangle type. i.e. Nerds.

I guess if you call being on VEISHEA exec, Spring Break in Acapulco, becoming a doctor, dating and marrying one of the hottest women/ pom squad girls on campus color me a nerd.

Signed AGR 1684

While I am an ex-Greek and promote affiliation as a whole, I think the way you are going about this is all wrong. I also think you are joining for all the wrong reasons.

Keep in mind that you do not pick which fraternity to join, the fraternity picks you and judging by your interests in only the party aspects of fraternity life...don't be surprised if some houses look the other way.

Go with the frat of Helser Hall, you won't be disappointed:jimlad:. Everyone that I knew that was in a frat hated it, but I can see why someone might want to join one.

I'm not in a house, but I think Delts is the way to go. Very active around campus and most of the guys are pretty cool. Plus they have good parties.

I also and a few others on here were members of another Fraternity who wasn't named. My recommendation is that you look into other houses than the big houses on campus, sure the social aspect of those houses is more out there, but in a small house you can really make a difference. Many of my houses members were very active in Inter-Fraternity Council and were actually IFC Presidents of the year. Don't walk around with blinders on thinking a "Frat" is the way to go, if you want to make a difference, join a Fraternity. If you have any questions, PM me.

Freddy was a Delt, so there's that.

I was in a frat, and it has not yet been mentioned anywhere. The original house burned down my freshman year. I'm not sure if the chapter ever really made it "back".

Out of those options, I'd have to say DTD or Sig Eps.

I personally am good friends with the Sig Ep recruiters, so if you want there contact info PM me.

Winner right here...I was a SigEp in college and it was a great experience. My buddy was a DTD and loved that experience as well. I really think its all about what fits you best. Rush and find out which guys in the house you feel like you get along with best and which guys that will be in your class you feel like could become your friends and you'll have a good match.

PM me I used to work for one of those fraternities's National headquarters and worked with the other 3 fraternities on a National level which might give you some guidance

What sort of work do you do now? Just curious. You're not a used car salesman are you by chance?

Helser is the most underrated dorm on campus, I enjoyed every minute there!

SigEp as well here. Graduated in '10 and was a VP. I can also answer any questions you may have about the house and can put you in touch with the recruitment chair if you'd like. Feel free to shoot me a pm.

Anyways, lots os sigeps on the board. I know about 4 guys in my sigep class alone that have accounts on cf.

SAE get's ragged on alot but it really is one of the best chapter's on campus. Their house is beautiful and their alumni usually put fourth at least $100,000 per year in improvements including a recently expanded and redone kitchen facility, the guys are great. many of my best friends are SAE's, I advise you to take a look at every house and decide on your own. A word of warning though, Pikes and Delts can be fake in trying to get you to sign, also last summer delts signed a guy in may and pulled his bid with less than a week before the deadline to find on campus housing in order to sign a different kid. As far as party's go at SAE they are a blast, I have never had a bad time at SAE. the SAE guys are honest and what you see is what you get this pretty much goes for sig ep's as well, but pikes and delts as a whole can be very manipulative especially of their pledges and girls. Not a Member of any house this is just my honest advice and feedback. the Date Rape rep about sae goes back to when a brother was acquitted of rape in the mid 90's because he had about 25 witnesses, guys and girls, that heard the girl say yes. she was just embarrased in the morning and said rape

SAE is just as fake. I know from experience. It comes and goes. You will always have houses that try that, and IMO SAE and Pikes were the worst in there ways in trying to recruit a guy to there house. And yet many guys fall for it.

This sounds like a bad Hawkeye trial. You do know that when intoxicated of any capacity, there is no such thing as consent, right? So if she woke up the next morning, felt as though she was inebriated to any extent, it was rape. Just saying.
