As I am watching this I can't help but laugh and think of Blades of Glory. Anybody else?

When certain parts of our society set out to androgynize the American male, I guess this is what they had in mind.

That was Scott Hamilton. He is married (to a woman) and has children. Doesn't excuse the fact that he called Plushenko a cat, twice. MEOW!

During the short program, Hamilton just about had the big "O" when Pleshenko finished. I was laughing hysterically and my wife wanted to know what was so funny. I rewound it without telling her what had happened and she said "Did he just have an "O"?" Methinks he gets just a little TOO excited calling the action.

My wife asked the other night if I thought they made Scott H announce from a soundproof booth to keep him from startling the skaters. :)

These men are athletes and should be treated with the same kind of respect and dignity as we show NFL, NBA players....

Psssst. I'm sorry. I couldn't keep a straight face while typing that.

Plushenko's friends call him whiskers.

Because he's curious like a cat?

in an interview following the medal ceremony, plushenko stated "if the moon was made of barbeque spare ribs, he would in fact eat it then".
