Yeah he’s gone. Personally hate this era of college athletics. I’m done giving two ***** about high school recruiting.

What's the way to fix it?

I don't really have a problem with them being pros...but there's a reason no successful pro league in the entire world has a system where 100% of players are one year free agent contracts.

It's not college sports anymore, but it's not really pro sports either. Not pro sports in a way that makes sense.

Why not just embrace and follow all recruiting? High school and Portal. Each class has different parts, and sometimes doesn't wrap up until August when school starts.

Milan, Jones, and Gilbert worked out great, Omaha, Pav, Hamilton, and Fish not so much. That's recruiting. Let's see what next year's class can do.

You have to have a cap put into place but with the NCAA being toothless and it seems to be the wild west with no rules in place it is just going to get out of hand and ruin the sport.

Wait until the SEC and BIG 10 start their own league. It's only a matter of time before the fat lady starts singing.

The only thing I’ve seen mentioning this is a few WVU pages. Not sure if I believe it or not, but wouldn’t be surprised if he transferred out.

People would be better off just avoid HS recruiting news altogether. No point even learning their names.

He was not going to get minutes here. Hopefully he finds a place where he will get minutes. A school like Iowa perhaps.

If they have to be "employees" to get something resembling the old transfer rules back, maybe that happens.

This isn't sustainable. ISU fans don't mind it because we've been winning. Teams losing with entirely different players every year are going to permanently lose their fanbase.

People can say whatever they want, but ISU had the highest rated recruiting class in its history less than 18 months ago and all but one of them are about to be gone. That is a failure. Either they whiffed on evaluation or they whiffed on development.

If this is how it's going to be, why bother recruiting high school kids at all? Isn't it a massive waste of time and effort? How can any recruit or parent take you seriously when almost every single freshman you've recruited, you've run off?

Great point. Because recruits coming out of HS are never overrated

If true I wonder where he will end up. Definitely has P5 athleticism, but probably would maybe thrive more in an offense first program. Maybe Fred can try and groom him?

Two are left, counting JT Rock. If JT Rock pans out, it will still go down as a productive recruiting class.

Look at the age of Illinois starting 5,....22,22, 23, 23 & 24.

City league all-stars vs. hs kids is always a losing proposition.

Welcome to 2024.
