On-Line Chess

Anybody have recommendations for a good on-line chess site / download / software program?

I'd like to teach and play with my nephew and looking for an app that doesn't have ads, or spyware, but still can send messages during play. I don't mind paying a reasonable fee if there's a good program.

Free has Ads, or a yearly subscription to club pogo with lots of adfree games is like $35 (you can find coupons and things) for one account so $70 a year if you want to pay for both. Has chat and things

Flyordie.com has some pretty good quality (a relative term) games including chess. And it has a chat area.
There is actually over 2000 playing right now.

The games are always timed though, so if your more interested in something that you can save an play over the course of a couple days this wouldn't work.

The same can be said about FlyorDie.com but personally I think their games are of higher quality than pogo. And if you want an adfree it's only $25.

I haven't used FlyorDie in so many years. I forgot all about it. I think the issue for me personally was that there were too many foreigners on it and I couldn't understand them in chat. 13 yr old me was ****** about that. So I went to Pogo. My account is approaching 8 years old now.

Yea I've been fairly loyal to FlyOrDie for the last 10 years or so but hardly play anymore. And it's usually billiards. Their curling game gets pretty popular every 4 years.

I use chess.com both when using a desktop and they have an ap. Really cool site.
