This one was not released until 1970. Best audio version I could find on youtube. Honest.

Joni Mitchell backed by the LA Express. It didn't get much better than this album in 1974. Instead of the two "hits" from this record (Free Man in Paris and Help Me), I offer the title song.

Manassas (their first effort from 1972) may have been the best album Stephen Stills ever made, even though there were no hits. I like this one:

The climax to a great album (Blows Against the Empire) from Paul Kantner, Grace Slick and friends from 1970.

Now, some of the harder side of the early 70s.

1970. A band from Minneapolis.

Notwithstanding upstarts like Crow, Grand Funk (a band from Flint) pretty much ruled the roost in 1970.

Johnny Winter, a man from Beaumont, Texas, could stand with the best of the guitar slingers. 1973.

Sorry folks, you're going to have to indulge me. I spent 10 years in this decade and still find it a trip.

You have identified my basic problem. It is true when they say 'If you can remember the 60s you weren't there." I graduated from ISU in 1966. Trying to recall this stuff is hard.

I graduated from HS in1977 and ISU in 1981. My gosh, does all this bring back memories! I’ll need to plan time to listen to these links and relive some really memorable years and music! I can’t even ...
