Happy Tuesday/Wednesday.

Welcome to another weekly posting of On That Note.

OTN is a weekly music post hosted by @cyclones500, @CycloneRulzzz and yours truly.

Last week's OTN was Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes and can be found here

https://cyclonefanatic.com/forum/threads/on-that-note-head-shoulders-knees-and-toes.252363/

This week we're doing songs with units of length or distance in the title or lyrics. So "inches" "feet" yards" "kilometers" etc.

Do not include songs about the body part 'feet'. We did body parts last week, remember? See link above.

My first 5:

500 Miles - Bobby Bare

Smile Away - Paul McCartney
"I can smell your breath a mile away."

2,000 Light Years from Home - Rolling Stones

10 Inch Record - Bull Moose Jackson

ISU Fight Song
"And when we hit the line we'll hit it hard, every yard for I-S-U!"

Really off the beaten track here. When I think of millimeter the first thing that pops into my head is this ancient cigarette commercial.

The longest cigarettes WERE King Size. Then Benson and Hedges came out with the 100 millimeter length, called simply "One Hundreds." Then this one came out - One millimeter longer.

"A silly millimeter longer 101." Weird how a commercial jingle can reside in your brain for 50 years...
