Back to Steve Albini, who did a s***-ton of stuff as musician producer, engineer, writer and “other,” but “In Utero” as producer might be his signature moment, albeit with some controversy (link the wiki page below).

He’s listed as producer for this single, the first from the LP, although it was remixed by Scott Litt prior to the albums’s released.

Behind you
My first intro to Kris Kristofferson was at the movie "A Star is Born" with Barbara Streisand.

"Watch Closely Now"

I'm pretty sure in all my years growing up that Kris Kristofferson would've been my mom's "hall pass." She loved him and his music, I grew up listening to him then later loved The Highwaymen. Plus it seems like he was a genuinely good human. Touching moment when he went out to support Sinead O'Connor on stage when she was getting booed at the Bob Dylan Tribute Concert a week after she tore up the picture of the Pope on SNL.

I've been listening to this song off and on since I heard of Linda Laflamme (co-writer and organist)'s death a couple of months ago. The song was one of the greats from the late 60's San Francisco era even though it was actually written in Seattle when the band was staying in a cold house there one winter.

So there is this bass player from a pretty popular band that died this year. I’m shocked he’s not been mentioned.

From both personal accounts and press he seemed to have been a pretty cool dude. I don’t want to have to be the one to post something; the only songs I even know are the “hits”.

Surely some of you are dirty hippies?

Benny Golson, composer and saxophonist wrote some beautiful jazz standards. Along Came Betty is from the album: Moanin'--Art Blakey. One to consider if your jazz collection is still stuck on Kind of Blue and Time Out.
