Time to move forward and discuss the Saturday tilt @WVU. A very winnable game, but super concerned about this being:

a) Road Game
b) Senior Day

WVU has lost 5 in a row and 6 of their last 7. They do tend to play better at home (no shocker). We needed last second heroics to beat them in Ames. Their physicality is worrisome.

I think the Clones have hit their stride (dat big 1 game win streak)... finally figured out how to hold off a late game push.

I'm expecting a big W this weekend.

A couple of keys I'll offer:

1) Avoid foul trouble for Ejim and Niang
2) Booker patrolling the paint again like he did Wednesday

If ISU manages those two things, they'll match WVU's physicality and the scorers will put it away.

It will come at no surprise that we will need a good shooting night to beat these guys on the road. We aren't going to get much in the paint, I suspect, against a more physical team. If we shoot well, that will bring the D out further and open things up. If we can't, it could be a long night.

I've been thinking about this game since the first meeting ended. Of course, that first game probably shouldn't have been as close as it was, given WVU's ridiculous hot streak from downtown.

Hopefully the guys can come out with the same sense of energy and urgency they played with last night. Getting #21 would be huge.

Hopefully we have a good start to take the crowd out of it and keep them at arms length the whole game.

I hate to say it, but I think there's a pretty good chance we've seen the last win of the year. WVU played tough at Hilton and last I checked the Big 12 and NCAA games are away from Hilton

I bleed Cardinal and Gold, but the performance of this team away from home gives me little confidence any noise will be made going forward.

Don't like it, but that's how it seems to me.

The WVU game at Hilton was only close because they had five Tyrus McGee's on the floor in the 2nd half. They just couldn't miss from behind the arc and ISU still pulled it out. WVU is just not a good team.

I think we have a step on the throat mentality about getting into the NCAA right now. I'm not worried at all. We win by 14

Bring the game we brought to Texas Tech or OU and we're hosed. Play like we did last night, and we're good.

They did go on an insane 10 for 11 from three run to erase a 20 point deficit. The game wasn't really that close until the end. ISU is learning to pay attention to the end of games. Let's see if they can avoid another TTU or OU road performance. If they play as they normally do on the road they should be fine.

I think that too many people are forgetting that half of "Hilton Magic" is playing like crap on the road.

Yes, those games at KU and OSU have me seriously concerned.

Looks like we are finally figuring out how to play better defense. Just in time.

One more road game, then the rest are neutral sites. That does make a difference since it is not a true road game.

I don't see WVU getting that hot from the outside again. That was insane, for a good shooting team, which they definitely are not. On the first few the ISU defense was not all that great, but who could blame the team after seeing WV throw up brick and brick in the first half. The last few makes by WV were way deep with guys guarding. This ISU team just seems to bring out the best in other teams desperation time. It has gotten to the point where I expected a 15% 3 point guy from OSU to hit 3 or 4 3s in a row from 28 feet at the end of the game last night.

Worried? A little but it's not because of them, it's because of our previous road play. Sure we only won by 2 in Ames but we had them down 19 and were cruising and we took our foot off the gas and they started making insane threes.

Fact of the matter is, they have six conference wins. Those wins are against Texas (2), TCU (2), and Texas Tech (2). That's it.

It'll be a close game but I feel pretty good today about winning.
