It is the only thing the band plays save perhaps the National Anthem so it doesn't matter if they score or not. The flowchart above is more fact than fiction.

Yeah, I remember from when I was in the band. It's particularly annoying when we played them in basketball at the Big12 tourney in KC. Over and over and over.

When I worked at K-State, the week prior to the team going down to Norman they practiced with "Boomer Sooner" blaring over the sound system so the team could get used to playing in the loud/annoying atmosphere. I lived about 3 blocks away and when the wind was right it was clear as day...yuck!

They will have a band here....our band needs to come up with our own quick little song to play and be on guard and the MINUTE OU lifts their instruments, blare them out.

We play after every play and every opportunity they give us during time-outs. (Unless our offense is close to us) So that shouldn't be a problem.

Oh they will bring a band will have lots of fans for a visiting big 12 team and they will come into our stadium and desecrate the National Anthem by Yelling SOONERS instead of the word brave at the end.

Is that what they do? Pathetic.

I went to Norman OK in the Jim Crymore Criner years and saw jamelle holloway blow us out and hear bummer er boomer sooner way too many times.

I asked this friend of mine why so many sooner fans leave during the 3rd qtr and his response was: "They get tired of hearing boomer sooner played every 3 minutes or so".

I thought that was a Grate Line...LOL

As mentioned this is not that far from the truth. They play it constantly. By far my least favorite and tt's really bad when your loosing.

This is the reason why I don't plan on watching this game. My rear end is still recovering from that game.

If I based my fan hood off of the memory of bad losses in the past I would probably have to stop being an Iowa State fan.

2010 is in the past. The 2012 team hung with K-State which is a pretty good team. And that was with very few offensive highlights. If ISU can get into any kind of rhythm offensively they can make some noise.

Heck, if the offense was able to complete some forward passes last year they could have given OU a scare at home.

Where will their fans get tickets? There will probably be a lot left out in the tailgate area if they come without getting tickets first.

I'm more worried about sitting by some obnoxious fan. Had two loser Hawkeye fans next to us for the Baylor game rooting for Baylor of course. They are out of town again, not sure if more Hawkeye fans or Sooners fan would be worse.

This sounds terrible. I've never understood why people do this.

I wonder if the band will be singing the alternate lyrics to Boomer Sooner on Saturday? Not exactly kid friendly, but fun anyways.

The best cure is for the defense to not let them score. They'd still play it anyways though.

I still do every time I hear it. Bite my @$$... Nails on chalkboard. My hatred for them far exceeds Nebraska, KSU, & the dallas cowboys now. Almost up there with EIU...

That Oklahoma will bring a pep band and I won't be able to get that God forsaken "Boomer Sooner" out of my head until a week from tomorrow. Not that I think they'll score that much, just that they play that song all the time.

Here's hoping, for the sake of the south end zone fans, that they don't bring the band.

Thanks, now it is ALREADY stuck in my head and it’s giving a bad flashback to 1978 when I sat next to Super Sooner Fan. He could shout “Go Billy Sims, Go Billy Sims, Go Billy Simsâ€￾ a dozen times is something like 10 seconds. I think his day job must have been doing those speed talker routines for radio commercials. Sims ran wild late in the game and rushed for over 200.

You've made me curious! Since they are reportedly not kid friendly, rep will be delivered if these alternate lyrics can be sent to me via PM.
