I've been thinking about doing the same. How is the video quality? Will primarily be watching on a a '15 chromebook and '14 iMac. Will probably just go single team and catch everything else on TV if I want to watch another team. And I don't have to be a cable/dish subscriber, correct?

The full 30 team package is only $20 more than the single-team one, and it comes with a Premium subscription to the MLB At Bat app while the single team one does not. I'm gonna compare the video quality today against ESPN. No additional subscription needed but it's not exactly cheap. Big discount for students and military though

I'm all about the student discount. I guess I'm curious about camera angles and such - is it like a regular broadcast or just a single camera? Or do they stream the real broadcast (i.e., FSN Midwest)? I don't have a TV and have resorted in the past to watching on firstrow. Thanks for info. I'll stop being a bum and go check out their site and packages.

Extra note: Anyone had issues with mlb.tv in Chrome browser on an imac or chromebook?

Let's Go Royals! Clap clap clap clap clap!

For all you Royals fans - long time Royals fan and writer Rany Jazayerli has put together this amazing series of the Top 200 + moments from the last two seasons, with analysis and video of each. It's an amazing series to follow (most are from the postseasons). I haven't made it all the way through yet, I'm hoping to finish it at some point. I think you guys will love it too.

There were so many amazing plays in the last two post seasons. I can't believe how many of these I completely forgot, even ones during the playoff games I attended (the beers may have something to do with that).

Go Brewers!!

Yep! I know that The Brew Crew management is in the process of rebuilding, but I'm excited to see how some of the young talent performs (can't wait to see Arcia and Phillips on the big stage). Plus, our starting pitching can't be worse than it was in April/May last year? Right!?

If it weren't for the blackout for live Cubs games, they'd have all of my money they could want.

The streams will be from the local TV market broadcasts. This doesn't happen all that often anymore, but one advantage of MLB.tv is that they have live streams of games that aren't being broadcasted over the air. So you might have that random Thursday afternoon get-away game that isn't being broadcast, but MLB.tv will use the stadiums closed circuit cameras and overlay a radio broadcast over the action.

I'm watching the game right now on MLB.TV. I had the option to choose either the Fox Sports Midwest broadcast or whatever the Pirates broadcast is. It's a high-quality stream of exactly what you'd see watching FSM on TV. If you are used to watching FirstRow, the quality here is a HUGE improvement. If you're used to watching HD TV, it's only slightly lower quality.

Cant help you with the browser question as I'm watching on Roku.

Same, it's very frustrating..

This won't help Cubs fans, but when I was signing up today it looks like the blacked-out teams in the state of Iowa are the Cardinals, Cubs, Brewers, White Sox, and Twins.

For whatever reason, the Royals appear to not be blacked out anymore on MLB.TV in Iowa. I am 90% sure that the Royals were blacked out the last time I looked at this a couple years ago.

Anyone that is frustrated about blackouts really needs to check out unlocator or unblock us. I'm gonna be able to stream all 162 cubs games through my xbox because of unblock us.

1.) Sign up for unblock us. 1st 30 days are free and you don't have to give any Credit card info. It's $5 a month after the trial
2.) Sign up for MLB.tv
3.) Stream on your computer

I thought Netflix just figured out a way to stop people from using VPNs to access location-barred content so I wouldn't be surprised if services like MLB.TV are quick to follow.
