Ordering Bank Checks

Oh I do (however I avoid debit cards and use credit cards). I just write checks at home. Have not jumped on the electronic transfer out of bank account bandwagon partially because I like to look at the bills and feel it helps me control spending.

same here.

Going to have to do this soon...had not thought of wal mart.

Sadly we still have a couple of bills that dont have online pay options.

I do have a family member though that does use credit/debit cards nearly all of the time but I have seen them take a three ring binder of checks to stores. They also have never used an ATM...
Does your bank not have a bill pay feature? Mine just sends checks when an electronic payment isn't possible.

Probably, will have to look into it...but that requires effort. I am OCD about the budget and bills so it may be best for me to manage everything.

If you looked thru our checkbook, it would be

babysitter
church donation

and on for about 6 months straight.

I got checks from WalMart online about 1.5 yrs when I moved. Everything went fine and I'd recommend them.

I think I've used about 6 of them. This was after I used about 30 of my previous checks at my old address.
Seems like a waste but I don't think I'd feel comfortable not having a checkbook at all.

We've paid our babysitters with gift cards we paid for with our debit card.

Sorry, babysitter prolly was a bad term...not like 'going out for the night, let's call the babysitter', but we have a gal that comes in to our home 3 days a week for a few hours. Neither my wife or I work a normal 9-5...so 'daycare' isn't really accurate, and I just can't be so stuffy to say 'nanny'...but it's really like her wages, so I'm sure she wouldn't appreciate always getting wal-mart gift cards.

Tell her she can have all the popsicles out of the freezer she wants.

FYI if wanting ISU checks from USBank, you can get them, but have to do the customized school logos area and choose the new logo. If you just choose the school instead of the custom ones, it gives you the bird in the blender.

I'm not sure why I just ordered 4 boxes of them since I only use them for paying rent, but I guess I just wanted new Iowa State ones for some reason. Oh well. Should last me a few years.

I do for rent.

That's it.

Hate it when people write checks at stores. Join the 21st century and get a damn debit card

Hate it when people use debit cards at stores. Join the 2010s and get a damn tap-and-pay virtual wallet. I'm tired of getting stuck behind you stooges that waste time fumbling around looking for your debit card, having to re-scan it because the magnetic strip is dirty or cracked, and scribbling your signature down or keying in your PIN.

Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone know if they will let you put two addresses on the checks?

Being a snow-bird and all, I'm always crossing out and hand-writing the current residence on the checks I'm using. (Which are left over from a previous address that I don't live at anymore. And thankfully am about finished using them up.)

She better not touch the goddam grape ones tho!

And since I'm too lazy to research it, how do you buy checks from not your bank? They print your routing number and account number on them and everything? Weird.

Oh, that's just amateur level s**t...real pros can get them to print them with someone else's routing number and account number on them.

I know it is difficult for your kind to read:wink:, but you "build" your check on the check ordering sites. You enter your routing and account number.

Actually kind of scary to think about it when you see your check on the screen with your routing and account number, but then, this is probably where your bank gets them done, you are just cutting out the middleman.
