I love TJ but we have to get away from playing the starters 28-33 minutes in buy-games in November and December. Clearly it is effecting these teams in February and you can’t win a conference championship if you are running on empty in February.

Love these guys and hopefully they can get healthy. Really concerned that the Gilbert situation is a little worse than everyone thinks

Perspective is this...............sh*t happens. It happened under Fred even during his good year, it happened under Prohm even during his good years and it happened for 4 entire seasons under GMAC. It happens. And that could be the headline to finish this season. Don't know.

I'm not sure what seed ISU gets and I really don't care. The way they are playing now I think seeding is the least of their concerns.

How much they play in December has zero bearing on their physical condition now unless somehow in December they were injured. Which in fact might be Gilbert's issue.

They aren't tired....just as they weren't tired last year. It's been an "excuse" by some on this site for 3 of TJ's 4 years. Why not last year? Answer.......King, Jones, Ward. They made Lipsey, Gilbert and Jones look really good. Jackson, Jefferson and Chatfield don't. King, Jones and Ward.........ISU really misses them.

In TJ's first 3 years we had really good injury luck. Very few missed games for key players. Injuries have certainly impacted this conference season. The turnover thing is extremely puzzling though; just tons of unforced turnovers for weeks now. This team has shown us what they are capable of when healthy. The only sleepy game left on the schedule is at Kstate. We always seem ready to play against top opponents, so hopefully that carries forward. I think what we all love about this team and past TJ teams is the effort and grit they play with. Okie State is not good and was not good tonight. It's just tough seeing our team give this one away due to lack of effort. No doubt in my mind they beat AZ by double digits on Saturday.

We certainly traded offense for defense in the portal. But we tend to romanticize BRE and Ward. There were certainly times when the offense was stuck because of the limitations and spacing issues last year. This team could be so much better on offense if we eliminated 3-5 unforced turnovers each game. I would also like to see us healthy but time is running out on that front.
Fatigue is what I would call it and mental fatigue can easily exhibit itself as physical fatigue. I appreciate that the goal was probably a Big 12 title and when we got unlucky in Tucson we saw the carryover an against KSU. Perhaps this was a carryover from being eliminated by Houston on Saturday. But elite teams tend to not have those “hangover” type of losses.

What is the name of that new post season tournament that 3 big 12 teams have to go to (not the NIT)? Might as well sign our guys up.

To be fair, nothing like what happened tonight hasn't really happened at all this year, so I can't really say it happened again.

That's the issue, we got byu, az, k state. All very difficult games.

I’ve not been clearing time to watch for a while now because of the letdown from the 3 losses which made it clear that this team is good, not great. It seemed like they could be great, but cracks were showing on the road. In the grand scheme of things, still awesome to have a good team (we’ve seen some real terrible seasons), just disappointing from what we originally thought.

It’s not unusual for basketball teams to be hit especially hard when a starter is injured or ill. This team has the potential to be really good if everybody is healthy, but is not so good that it can absorb missing people. It’s also clear that the book is out on how to defend the team. Too many bad hands underneath and a bunch of bad passers means if you’re not hitting threes and if Gilbert isn’t winning 1-on-1s or 2’s, then offense is gonna be a major struggle. Which is disappointing, especially given the apparent lack of adjustments, or worse, the inability of the team to execute adjustments.

At the moment the team is trending down from good to above average, which, again, disappointing. A Big XII tourney run seems unlikely, but who knows. Unless they come out and blow away some people in these last few games (including the tourney), I would expect a 4 or 5 (maybe even 6) seed in the tourney. At this point I don’t really care what seed they get, it doesn’t matter in and of itself. There’s nothing interesting left to do or milestones to achieve outside of trying to make a deep run in March, but unfortunately I worry that the team falling to a lower seed probably means major mental and confident issues more than anything else.

Someone please explain to me the pocket picking that opposing teams have been doing to us all conference season. Other teams defending Tamin, Keshon, Curtis, or Joshua all remind me of when I play defense on NBA 2K games just spamming the steal button. Have coaches identified something in film with regards to tendencies or are refs just not calling as many reach in fouls this year? I don't recall sloppy ball handling plaguing this almost identical group a year ago.
