If you're a sci-fi fan, this is a must see. I absolutely loved it.
I saw it on Friday and thought it was one of the worst movies I've ever taken the time to see in the theater.

I understand what they were trying to do, but I thought the plot and its execution were down-right boring, overly self-indulgent and nonsensical in places. I can see this being critically acclaimed by movie critics and very polarizing with general audiences.

I thought Brad Pitt's performance was great and thought the most interesting part of the film was Pitt's character and development. But NOTHING happened! You honestly can't put a spoiler alert here because there is no plot, climax, or resolution to spoil.... waste of my damn time

There is a certain genre (and it isn't scifi) that will provide plenty of the bold, but unfortunately not very good plots.

Is it anything like "Interstellar?"

I loved Moneyball. Even if you're not a baseball fan I feel like the movie would still be a good watch.

Other than it being about space travel in general, I'd say no, it's not anything like Interstellar.

In my opinion, part of the problem with Ad Astra was it didn't know if it wanted to be Interstellar or 2001: A Space Odyssey.

I like both. It's hard to emulate A Space Odyssey and not look stupid, though.

When I walked out of Rambo. There was a couple walking out of Ad Astra the were leaving early and saying they thought it sucked. Which sucks because I wanted to watch it. Rambo was Rambo btw. If you like that type of movie. You will like it. If you are looking for the Oscars, this is not it.

More like 2001. It's more of a psychology experience than sophisticated plot. I wish just once, someone would approach space travel like the "Martian" approached survival. With 'science' related situations and responses. Interstellar had more plot behind it. I found the piracy interesting, but fully undeveloped. I found the over-run space lab interesting, but fully undeveloped. I found the Mars communication link interesting, but again fully undeveloped. In the end it was merely a father son separation saga.
But, again, has anyone else heard the Iowa State/Kansas football score in the beginning of the movie?

Yeah, I heard it. I even pumped my fist in the theater, excited for the Cyclone win. It gave me a false sense of hope that the movie was going to be good, unfortunately.

How in the **** was she bored during Moneyball? That's a great ******* movie with multiple great storylines and very good acting.

I'm offended.

My teenage son and I go to 2-3 movies per month. We both would rank it #1 for the most boring movie of 2019. He fell a sleep soon after the monkey attack scene. I wish I would have. I loved Interstellar and was hoping this would be similar. Nope.
