Exactly that's what scout team means.

But the players running with the scout team aren't being developed in practice/meetings on the techniques/philosophies to run the opponents offense/defense. Their main developmental focus is on what ISU does offensively or defensively. But like I said, just a theory.
Here’s my take, it’s the Mike Tyson Theory “everybody has a plan until you get hit in the mouth”. Our Head Coach played OL in the NFL and he spent more time with our unit than other groups. His mantra was “he who hesitates is lost” which came from his NFL coach Weeb Eubanks. We spent hours practicing blocking assignments in preparation against our future opponents tendencies and alignments. The difference between OL & DL personnel is cerebral & instinct. OL have to have a coordinated execution based on timing while DL basically hit and react. Going back to Tyson, the problem for OL is that the plan they have in their mind gets changed instantly when the DL stunts and the LB or DB blitz. That’s why our current OL coach identified finding the most violent five or so OL. Because when you get hit in the mouth, it’s a brawl and the tuff guy wins.

Keleche Osemeli played at 6’5”x330 lbs and had a great college and pro career. Would guess his frame and weight out of HS would be similar to Kuol Kuol’s measurements at the same age. These are the kind of line recruits that I like to see. Name made for an offensive lineman too!

Does he have the same speed and footwork as Keleche?

Trying to find out how to properly pronounce Kuol, I did a quick google.

This is all I found:

“The name of a bitter African fruit, as well as a name used for boys.”

Looking further, I found an OU basketball player who pronounces his name “Kwahl”.

With an obvious Texas accent, so take that as you will.

Saw an interview with him. He pronounces it coo-awl, iirc. Google his name, it's in one of the recruiting site videos. Here, I think:

Thanks. At about the 1:06 mark, he says it “Kwall Kwall” to my ears. And that he’s planning to be a January enrollee. Currently 6’6” 255.

Kuol Kuol the Wall!
