I think this series is great, I know while watching this it does have a very Defense based agenda, and does leave out a few things and even tries to throw more BS at the main prosecutor by throwing his other non-related indiscretions at the end.
But even after looking at the bigger picture with the items left out of the documentary, this guy was guilty before the case even started, a lot of the media driving the guilt too early and when you look at it the only items the defined his guilt was what seemed to be planted DNA and the confession of a underdeveloped mentally unstable nephew.
I look forward to the information that Unanimous(hacking group) has collected, the involvement of the same cops throughout, when they over and over stated they would only be involved when asked just throws dirty red flags everywhere for me....
I will say one thing is my company ever moved to this county in WI and forced me to relocate I would quit....

As captivating as this documentary is I can't get over the fact that so many people watching forget the fact that an innocent girl was brutally murdered and her corpse mutilated. The attention this is getting, has got to open up some old wounds for the family. Can't imagine what they are going through.

I can't get over the bad/weird feeling I had about the brother of the victim.

Just finished the first episode last night. Truly compelling. Tried to get the wife to stay up and watch more. Hopefully we can watch more tonight.

I think being on Netflix helps this documentary format. No commercial breaks to pull you away really keeps you engaged.
Gets way better with way more twists and turns

Oh and I want to go on the record and say I feel awful for the family but have no idea how I feel about Brother Halbach.

Seemed like he cared more about the Avery's getting in trouble than finding out who killed his sister. Dude also was one of the only ones involved with her voicemail but was having a hard time remembering anything about the voicemails.

the real issue here is the Wisconsin education system. Wowza.

I kept thinking that Manitowoc County could have just as easily been replaced with my home county (Rock Island County in IL) and it would have been hard to distinguish the two.

Also, the judge really set me off near the end, when he said something along the lines of "you're whole life, every time you have something looking up for you, you throw it away and make horrible, awful choices" or something along those lines.

Judge, he was in jail for 18 years. Had an awful life. And it appeared his wrongful sentencing from his "rape" case was going to just be marked as an "oops" in the justice department and no one would get in trouble.

The law gave him no opportunity to rebuild his life.

The judicial system in the State of Wisconsin is horribly flawed. Why on earth would the judge who heard the original case and decided the sentencing be the SAME judge who determines if there is to be an appeal???

But the biggest travesty was regarding the investigator (Michael O'Kelly) hired by Brendan's own lawyer who admitted in the appeal hearing that he was a church-friend with the victim and that the Avery-family bloodline needed to be stopped! He admitted right there that he helped railroad the kid, yet the judge still denied his appeal.

I thought that I had mis-heard the investigator on the stand because I thought with certainty that if he was a church friend that he would have a conflict of interest - to say the very least.

I remember something along the lines of him emailing that the Avery's are the devil.

Watching O'Kelly fake-cry on the stand when he exclaimed aloud when he saw the blue ribbon, without provocation, that he went to church with the girl, made me actually throw **** at the TV. And then to hear him read aloud his own email in where O'Kelly denigrates the Avery family, calling them "one branch" that needs to be cut down! It is sickening that this man was hired by the attorney (Kachinsky) who was appointed by the state to PROTECT Branden. Just sickening.

I would say that I really enjoyed the series, but I'm not sure I did. I couldn't stop watching, but I didn't like what I was watching? Idk.

I don't know much about the judicial system, but I kept finding myself saying "that can't be right", or "can they legally do that". I figured he was going to be found guilty, but I had to see it happen because based on what was shown, and the lack of evidence, I didn't think there was enough to convict him.

I feel that Steven Avery was found guilty based on fear that he might be dangerous and needs to be in jail, and not because he killed Theresa Halbach.

Something fishy about the ex boyfriend especially. I don't understand why he wasn't investigated more thoroughly.

I might need to re-watch that episode. I thought in O'Kelly's email that he claimed that someone else had said those things to him and he was relaying them to Kachinsky. Binge watching isn't conducive to remembering everything.

Him or the roommate that did not report her missing 3 days after. Plus those two seem like they are pretty tight....

If you want another documentary (not a series) on Netflix that will blow you out watch 'Dear Zachary'. Do NOT Google anything about it before watching. Complete mind ****.
I watched this last night. It made me furious.
