Testifying
Nice to read thru the reasoning of his initial salary (being low) as well.

Awesome! Well deserved but still feel like we're getting a pretty friendly deal here compared to a lot of other coaches. I know him and Pollard are on the same page though so not too worried about that. TJ obviously loves it here.

TJ knows he's never going to the $$ here that he might get at other schools. He also knows he might not be as successful every either (he belongs in the upper midwest). He also knows he probably has a longer leash here than he would other places and the A.D. is one of his best friends.

That kind of cash goes a long way in Ames, too.

And honestly, what can't you do in Ames with $3.5M per year that you can do with $5M....

Oh one hundred percent. He's giving up a little money for the perfect fit and a longer leash. He's banking on being here for the long haul. Why go somewhere and make 6 million for 3-4 years when he wants to be here and can make 3-4 million for the next two decades (hopefully)
