Based on the talent we had stockpiled at the end of the Gmac era? Or from the productive recruits we had during Fred's first 2 seasons? Based on the studs he brought to UW?

Please read up on the recruits Otz brought to ISU and keep in mind he did this while having to sell McDoormat and experimental phase of Hoiball. Matt had a massive advantage in recruiting for that reason.

I don't know enough about the overall role of each or Fred's personal involvement with certain recruits to judge which is better, but I just don't agree with people that think MA was clearly the superior recruiter.

I think both have proven to be capable and valuable to the program.

Worth considering for those who have said he might be ready to bolt at the first opportunity.. i mean if he really wants to be here its not like he still wont be living comfortably in Ames. Not head coach money, but last time here he was making $200k+ which goes a long way in Iowa.

So Brackins and some 3* guys? Those are solid players but its not like he is landing blue chip recruits or a caliber of player better than what we landed without him. The only difference is the guys he brought in didn't translate to any success on the court as a team. To me, this is a very humbling and underwhelming hire but Fred knows what hes doing. I just dont' get the rep he has a great recruiter, when you look at it, the guys he brought in were the type of guys ISU has always gotten.
