For what it's worth...this news won't make or break the team next year.

No need to be in panic mode.

If you're right, all I can say is Hallelujah! I sure hope you're right, because while I don't like to see anyone leave our program, it would sure ruin my day to hear that Craig decided to declare.

Don't know about you....but I would definitely take a two for one trade...Boozer and Eikmeier for Seth Curry....Seth would put us on the national stage guaranteed...

Right about what? What are you appreciating? He didn't give any information to be right about or for anyone to appreciate.

Does the OP usually have very good inside information? I don't doubt that at all. But posting stuff like this accomplishes nothing, except providing a forum for rampant speculation. That's what people have an issue with.

If you aren't at liberty to divulge the information in totality, then don't say anything at all.

I guess the part I dont like is how about 3-4 players names get dropped with being the guy quitting... thats it.

Has anyone considered that we will likely have more new players on the court next year than we did this year? We had five new players see the court last year (Mann, Eikmeier, Hamilton, Buckley, and Vanderbeken) and for next season we will have six or more (Colvin, Gilstrap, Dendy, Pomlee, Christopherson plus the replacement(s) for whomever is leaving).

Why post w/o information unless you are trying to start a poop storm/or just trying to look like an 'insider'?

I would think the last thing you want is guys with inside knowledge to "out " themselves and cut off access to future information.

Doesn't bother me he cannot name names..This team was pretty much below average this past season. So unless its Brackins has signed with an agent, Staiger is going back to Germany, Diante enrolled at Marquette, or Ham is going on a mormon mission, I am not going to worry about anyone else.

He is at liberty to divulge that someone is leaving, he just isn't at liberty to break the news of who until that person does. Why are people so stupid? If you hate the thread they don't read 100 posts in it. I for one appreciate the heads up that someone is taking off, and it will be announced this afternoon.

Is this a hint at the news?

I heard a "rumor" from a VERY reliable source that Lucca and Eikmeier are going to get a new experimental surgery together. I'm not doctor but I head that the common name for the procedure they are going to get is called "siamesing". I think they are going to take Lucca's top and Wes's bottom and put them together and then Wes's top and Lucca's bottom. Should be interesting and hopefully we will get at least ONE good player out of it.

I agree.

Since we have Buckley with Chris Colvin coming in, maybe a certain PG with no outside shot and limited finishing ability sees the writing on the wall. I doubt that's the case but it wouldn't upset me in the least....

So you want one of our top players to leave? I understand that some people were upset with a few of DGs games last season, but he was near the top of the conference in Assists and A/TO ratio, two huge stats for a PG. DG is going to be a very key part of the team next year. I think you've been living too close to the Hawks nest.

Gee, thanks for clearing that up for me. Guess I'm just too stooooopid to get it.

Am I the only one glad to hear this news, assuming it is not someone we are counting on for big minutes next year? We are better off replacing players who are not Big 12 talents with more talented players. That is a good thing. I have no problem with a Tim Floyd-ish method.

SERIOUSLY? Do others not see the potential of DG? There are a lot of great college point guards that aren't great shooters. DG keeps getting better at penetrating, keeps improving his midrange game, does well with assists, and keeps getting better with not turning the ball over. He was a sophomore this year and was 3rd in the Big 12 in assists...tied w/ Sherron Collins.

Hey, don't go putting words in my mouth! I never said DG...

Despite tying for third in assists, he was #10 in assist to turnover ratio, albeit ahead of both Sherron Collins and Byron Eaton (#'s 11 & 13 I believe). Unfortunately, Collins and Eaton show up on other league leader lists, such as steals, points scored, etc. I didn't say I wanted him to leave, just that I wouldn't be upset about it.

Shouldn't you be at least a little bit worried that the coach keeps bringing in players that aren't Big 12 talent?
