I don't even know how you could research the question. Where's the database for that?

You know, Doyle likely was a big part of that program's success over the years. Why else would a character like that be kept on board for so long?I’ll try and dig up the stats, but I’m guessing we’re the only team in Power 5 history to over come two blocked punts in a game. I don’t think it’s ever been done before.
It just points to the complete physical domination we now have over Iowa at all position groups. We were simply the bigger, faster, more physically dominant team. Iowa appears to be missing Doyle. He pushed that team to the brink with his patented “multi system organ failure workouts”, but it did get results.
I'm certain no power 5 team has ever won a game after giving up 2 blocked punts AND 3 turnovers. That's how much better we are than Iowa.I’ll try and dig up the stats, but I’m guessing we’re the only team in Power 5 history to over come two blocked punts in a game. I don’t think it’s ever been done before.

Agree. The loss of the Meathead may be finally kicking in.You know, Doyle likely was a big part of that program's success over the years. Why else would a character like that be kept on board for so long?
Yes, our blocker has to step out and attack him instead of waiting for the Iowa guy to initiate contact after getting a full head of steam. My high school coaches taught it that way 35 years ago. Both times our blocker was flat footed and the Iowa guy went right through him to get a hand on the football. Simple fix and really hard to believe that our new NFL special teams coach missed that.Very unusual to see a guy go through or over-the-top of the up back to block the punt with one hand. Happening twice in a game is remarkable. There has to be a way to prevent this from recurring.
